We have anyone in here familiar with decks? I just built one over the last 2 weekends. I used pressure treated wood for the base but used 2x4’s for the deck boards. I’m going to put a waterproof sealant over the top but just wondering if there is anything else I can do to help preserve it for as long as possible. Was wondering if anyone had any tricks or advice?

Your pressure treated frame should be fine (especially, if it's douglas fur) for 20 years plus with how dry AZ is.

The 2×4s aren't going to last that long and will require a lot of work.

You’ll want to/have to keep up with maintenance on those 2x4s. It doesn’t take long for them to go, being exposed.

Anyway to prevent it? How long will they be good?

Seal them. Top and bottom. You said you live in AZ, so I’m guessing you don’t get the rain/snow we do here, but the sun and heat will still beat down on them.
Make no mistake, I’m no expert. I’m just basing it on what I experience with my stuff.
Did you use nails or screws to secure them? When mine was built, they used nails. The work their way out as water gets into the hole and freezes.
Honestly, one of the projects on my wish list is to tear my deck down and make it bigger. Refinish with Trex or a similar product.
