What Do Jazz Fans Feel Their Chances Are Against The Nets?

As a Knick fan I am honest about my team. I know we are the fourth best team in the league and that there are only three teams in the league that are better than us - the Nets, the Lakers (when healthy), and the Clippers. I know that if we met either of them in a seven game series, we would most likely lose the series in game seven (and it would take an overtime game 7 to do it).

Now suppose Rudy strikes again and spreads covid throughout the NBA West. Fourteen west teams have to put an end to their season, but the Jazz are immune because Rudy, along with being a super spreader, is also a super shield -- his team is immune. So with only one team available in the West, the Jazz get gifted an opportunity by Adam Silver to play in the Finals this year. Where they will meet the Nets.

But how do you Jazz fans feel about facing the Nets in a seven game series? Let's say the Nets do have Kyrie/Durant/Harden healthy, plus Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, Joe Harris, DeAndre Jordan, and Jeff Green. Do you honestly think in The Finals you could beat that team?

Who hurt you?

We would be underdogs. Shooting can cure alot of deficiencies but...they are too loaded and they have Mike Dantoni on staff who can out coach Snyder.

This is pretty good analysis.

The bottom line is the Nets are beyond loaded. There's an article in today's paper here in NY stating that the Nets are the best team ever put together. I have to agree with that. I thought of the Olympic '92 Dream team, but that doesn't count - not a professional sport. The Nets...no team in b-ball or any other sport has ever been this loaded. They will lose one game to the Jazz but the four other games would be absolute slaughters.

That's putting the cart before the horse.

If the Jazz make it to the finals I like their chances against any team. There should never be any easy outs in the NBA Finals.

I can definitely see the NYC media and residents believing that...

Yeah, this team still has a lot of work to do before even thinking about the Finals. I think they can beat anybody but I also think they have some glaring weaknesses that can be exposed.

I don't feel good about our chances vs the nets.... Having said that, if we make the finals and lose to the nets I will be a pretty happy jazz fan.

Obviously I want a title but a finals appearance is way past my expectations when the year began.

We would take them to an unprecedented 9th game. See the jazz would win game 7 but the league cannot allow the jazz to win the championship in that scenario so they will extend it by 2 games. In the meantime, Jeff gillooly, the actual Jeff G., Will be brought in to "take care of" Rudy Gobert, the very obviously best player in the league, probably best player of all time. He would whack Gobert in the knee as Gobert was coming out of Tucanos along with Joe Ingles and Georges Niang, who has since earned the nicknames #GeorgesTheMeloKiller and #GeorgesTheDurantMurderer as we swept Portland in the first round and Melo averaged 3 points per game on 1-16 shooting average for the 4 games, and Durant has been held to 12 ppg as he could never get off an uncontested 3 and was forced into a pure mid-range game where Gobert was eating everyone's children, because his defense was impregnable. Anyway, after the Tanya Harding treatment, which actually bends the tire iron and breaks Gillooly's arm with the rebound off Gobert's knee, Gobert actually gets stronger and in the soon-to-be fabled game 9, Gobert records the world's first 30 block game along with 30 points and 31 rebounds, culminating in a block so fierce on Kyrie Irving that Kyrie spontaneously entered a coma in which he still lies, only occasionally muttering things that sound like "french rejection" and "stifle tower". And after the jazz are up 164 to 96 at the end of regulation the league and the world are forced to admit that the 2021 Utah Jazz are the greatest team ever assembled. Their greatness is so complete that Marvel offers the jazz organization full copyright and trademark ownership of the Avengers name and all IP.

And you better believe it. I paid a dear price for this glimpse into our future.

Go Jazz.

You honestly don't think that's true? You really don't believe the Nets are the best team ever assembled? OK, then name another.

And you can't go by multiple Championships. The Islanders, Yankees, Celtics, Canadians, Lakers, Oilers.... This Nets team is just starting, and no one on Earth believes they will be together for a five-peat Championship run, so dynasties can not be the criteria. We are talking now. The team that takes the floor right now is stronger than any other team ever put together.

Possibly the Yankees of the '20s can be mentioned in the Nets class. The Islanders and Edmonton Oilers were also constructed perfectly, but not in any way close to the jaw dropping sight of these Nets. Man, just tune into a game! There's James Harden, next to him is Kyrie Irving, next to him is Kevin Durant! Oh, yeah that's Aldridge and Blake Griffin out there, too.

Nah, Knicks will beat Nets easily in the playoffs

Man, that's an excellent point. We know the Jazz can only make it to The Finals if 14 teams out west get covid, but the Nets? Yeah, why do we assume they will be in The Finals when the Bucks, Knicks, and Sixers are standing in their way?

Your scenario was going good until that final sentence. Uhh, Marvel equals Avengers? No, below is the one and only and true holder of the name The Avengers:

One quick thing:

Boy, you are clueless when it comes to NY media and fans. You really think NY fans and media heap praise and love on our NY teams and athletes? Man, that is so hilarious and so wrong.

Below is an example of the way the NY media heaps hugs, kisses, and love upon our NY athletes. Let me know when the Utah newspapers call a guy on your team an a--hole on the front page.

New York is thee toughest place to play. Ewing missed a shot against the Pacers in the playoffs in 1995 and that's what New Yorkers remember most about him. One shot that didn't go in, not the 9,702 that did go in.

Remember, the Jazz don't actually have to win the games, but just win more quarters to be champions.

Yup. Final scores, scorecards from the judges...meaningless. Just watch the game, see who dominated...that's the winner.

No joking about that. I grew up in a boxing family and the way you tell who the winner of the bout is is to disregard the judges' scores and just ask yourself, "Which fighter would I have rather been?" There's your winner.

Or you can ask a six year, "Who won that fight? They would get it right. (That's actually a very true statement. Kids wouldn't be clouded by stupid scoring minutiae when looking at a fight. They can just tell you, "That guy won" and be 100% correct.)
