What's new

NBA Top Shot

NFTs are here to stay.
I still have my doubts. Overall it seems like a huge scam just to funnel money through. I've read that the thing now is that people will sell NFT's to themselves, since all these things are hard to track and not regulated, to artificially inflate value then sell them to some rube.

Like someone will have a NFT they paid 1K for, then sell it to themselves for 20K, then sell it to an actual person for 10K.

For sure... its the wild west right now. I think like bitcoin and other things there will be some winners that survive. I think topshot or Dapper will survive longish term... in our world now I consider that like 5-10 years.

These are new but they have been in the works for a while... I talked with a company like 3-4 years ago that was building some tech around tokens, digital collectibles, etc. It sounded like the wildest **** ever but I get it now.

I'm not saying they won't survive, but ultimately they are just something for people to gamble on/launder money through. There will be winners for sure, but there will be more losers.

NFT's are literally one of the easiest things to track. Every transaction is cemented in the blockchain for the whole world to see. Thats not to say there isnt anything shady going on.

Anyone still in to this? I have a 14 dollar credit and looking for a good buy at that range.
I am not actively using it anymore. I sold off a bunch of cards at a good profit and am holding on to a handful of cards hoping for a profit later. But I also just noticed I had a $90 credit in my account so I guess I should buy something with it.

I'm still really active. Have made a little dough and have a big collection... also got in on the NFL one they started but have my doubts there. My son actually got a #1 serial number of a rare Nate Robinson (yup nate robinson) and he sold it for $2k... lucky bastard.

That's badass! Congrats to him for sure!!!

What's the NFL one? Might check it out.

Yeah, I'm still pretty addicted to it. I've made over 9k$. Have almost every Jazz moment. Its a lot of fun.
Dapper is great with engagement... there are things I would change but all the challenges and stuff they do is pretty fun. The test is growing the user base... worst case its still fun.

How has this been going since the start of crypto winter and general negative sentiment towards NFTs?

IDK... I got bored. I have all my money out... doubled my initial investment... but i have like 300+ NFTs still. I think I will just ride it until there is a next cycle or just have it die. I check in every now and again but it tanked pretty hard.
