Pre Game

Consecutive Eu-friendly Sunday games. Don't remember this happening before. Hopefully both are wins.

Fun fact. The Utah Jazz are called the "Jazz" because Joseph Smith was an avid fan of Duke Ellington.

Don’t see us winning this game unless Holliday plays and even then probably a L Jazz seems to be healthy now

Aaron Holiday available. Noice.

1st Half

Nice start with an Ayton block on Gobert. Gobert probably doesn't get blocked too often.

24 in 6 minutes, sheeesh

Ayton now 3rd on our team in 3pt% (36.4%) of guys who have shot more than 10. Right behind Booker (36.5%).

Them having Gobert and Whiteside is an imposing duo. Hopefully we can match up with Ayton and McGee. Biyombo HAS to get some minutes today. We're probably going to need him.

Awseome 2 min start.... keep it up Suns!

Ayton's hook is unstoppable. And now he's hitting threes? League is ****ed.

Oh our shooting is back. That's nice

Holy **** we are on today

Hello Jazz, welcome to real defense

Ngl that crowder layup is gonna be in my nightmares

****, just woke up my sleeping newborn, but this game is so good!

This might be the best I’ve seen the Suns play all year.

Especially the defense. Their switching is impeccable.

I mean 10-11 shooting was a bit unsustainable lol

Utah is making nothing but 3s

if they could stop making 3s, that'd be great

Only thing keeping this even close is some insane 3 point shooting by them

Mitchell is going to be a headache all afternoon

They gotta start calling Goberts **** *** screens. It’s so ****ing obvious he’s not set and throws his arms and hip into guys

That Mitchell 3 summarized this BS game, all these fadeaway lucky shots have gone in.

Of course Mitchell’s chuck goes in. Some ********.

booker would average 30 if he got mitchell’s whistle

“We’re down 4 now. Time for the most difficult low percentage inbound pass we can come up with.”

Good game so far. Offense so far looks to be executing flawlessly. Gotta live with the Mitchell 3s, law of averages say they’ll eventually cool off from 3. They been attacking the paint on the PnR with McGee in though.

Was I the only one waiting for us to cough up that 14 point lead? lol.

God ****ing damnit Clarkson

0 rebounds for Ayton lol come on man
Gobert has 8. Damn.

Point Book just isn't going to work for more than a game here and there he just doesn't run the offense very efficiently

Agreed. He's a scorer, not a distributor. That's not to say he can't be if pressed into it as a necessary case, but he's just not wired like that. He's going to look for his shot first.

Two moving screens by Gobert on one play, ugh. You'd think it would be easy to see the larget human being in the southwestern US move 7 feet away from you...

Gobert with 10 rebounds already. Dude is a statue in the paint, practically a guaranteed three second violation every possession but the officials aren't interested in calling it.

Bench killed us with lack of shooting. That and our overall poor 3pt defense again. Jazz shooting 50% from 3.

The starters are dominating Jazz's starters without CP3, which is great to see. Ayton raising his play in a big game, not that surprising. Should box out much better, but his offense is everything we all want to see on a regular basis(max worthy).

The bench though...that's why Monty will still bring Cam J off the bench once CP3 is back. Shamet is nowhere to be found once again, if we only had Gallo

Utah is mostly healthy and Suns are depleted and keeping up thus far. Good sign.

The Jazz want to shoot threes. We are going to let them, and they are going to make them.

Clarkson looks like he got makeup on.

He is a pretty man

Rudy blocks Ayton and Ayton gets him back immediately. Whiteside posters McGee and McGee gets him back immediately.

This is a fun game

That was one of the fastest evaporations of an 8 point lead I've seen, and of course it happens with us. Defending the 3 ball is infuriating.

Conley floater is automatic

Getting put away by danuel ****ing house

Clarkson is shooting lights out ****

Here’s some advice I have for us. Don’t give up ****ing massive runs to end quarters.

2nd Half

We should maybe try and box Gobert out before he gets 30 rebounds.

Gobert didn't get pushed. HE initiated the contact and he's clearly holding Ayton's arm. Dude does this stuff on the regular.

Whiteside and gobert the masters of the moving screen like damn call it wholly $*!t

Four threes in a row by UTA. We can't buy one from out there this game.

Let's send Gobert home crying

Utah also just hitting some ridiculous shots right now.

Unreal 3pt shooting display by the Jazz

Getting tired of getting torn up by everyone with **** hair

Booker is not a superstar. CP3 is.

50% from downtown, I'm so sick of getting beaten by the 3 ball. The Jazz can go pound sand.

Gobert is tragic on offense goodness

Gobert had like 3 offensive fouls in one possession and had the nerve to look at the referee and complain after not getting the rebound. I hate that man

Gobert is the absolute worst center I've seen get this much respect from the refs

Why is every 50 50 ball going the Jazz way? The refs are absolutely hosing the Suns L

If Snyder doesn't do coke, I'm a chair

Clarkson *** all year till today lol

God damn this loss is gonna piss me the **** off, should be winning this game

Letting whiteside get that dunk early was a mistake. He’s actually been trying all game now.

They spent that whole segment sucking off the Jazz. I hate those gas bags over at ESPN

Clarkson always kills us

Tough to win when the Jazz are hitting prayer shots.

Another banked 3. Why not

Gobert is absolutely infuriating on a variety of levels.

I still think that Donovan Mitchell is basically Dame 2.0 in play style. Though a little bigger

This game can get ****ed.

Mitchell is winning the Mitchell v Book talk rn. Step up booker

This might be controversial, but I really wish Chris Paul wasn’t injured.

Why the hell would you shoot that over Gobert??

Complete luck on that shot. They just got hot from 3. Even house hit back to back 3s. Also no way that's a foul. Booker got all ball on that swipe

Since when does Clarkson shoot 60% from the field?

I wonder what it feels like to actually have a homecourt advantage.

This broadcast gurgling jazz j***

That 16-3 run was brutal

Jazz also throwing up prayers and they're all going in. Just that kind of afternoon, I guess.

I’m not even upset at this loss because of the crazy shots Mitchell hit. Clarkson was hot last game against us and continued tonight. We need Payne back to help orchestrate the offense so Booker can get a breather.

These guys can’t miss

Jazz have a ton of shot chuckers

Gobert is a piece of ****. He sets moving screens all game, camps in the paint with no 3 second call, then pulls on Bridges shorts and still gets a call in his favor. **** these officials, and **** the Jazz getting away with everything and making circus shots.

Crowder makes a tough shot but then a terrible terrible pass.

Crowder just cost us a chance to tie the game. Wow. What a mind numbingly stupid play.

Dear jeebus. WTF was that?!

In Crowder’s defense that guy in the 3rd row was wide open…

It wasn't a terrible pass, he basically threw a lob to the fans.

Quin yelled the magic words and Jae carried out his pre-loaded programming

The full Jae Crowder experience within thirty seconds.

Crowder giveth, Crowder taketh away

One a Jazz man always a Jazz man right Crowder??

thanks Jae crowder for ****ing my whole parlay appreciate it

****ing Jae went from almost bringing us back with the three to choking the game away.

Crowder even if he came to you that pass was sent to narnia! Just call the timeout!

Literally the worst play I've ever seen from any Suns team ever

Crowder is a dumb dumb

This is over. All of our losses are basically due to the other team hitting insane 3s all game

But did Mitchell call bank?

I can't believe that went in

Post Game

Another terrible loss. Refs ****ed us, our bench ****ed us, our terrible 3 point defense ****ed us, our terrible rebounding ****ed us.

We’re gonna kill Book if we keep playing him this hard for 40 min per game. We can afford to lose games. We can’t afford to lose Book.

Mitchell hitting lucky *** shots. We beat them healthy and no I’m not making excuses but the jazz don’t scare me worth ****.

Chris makes the basketball IQ of these morons like 20% higher just being on the floor.

Back to back bad defensive outings.. Jazz made unbelievable shots today though. Don’t know if we win either of todays games with CP3.

Suns would have won if Joseph Smith didn’t find those damn plates

Donovan banked in two threes

The Suns bench shot 4-18

Jae launching it to row Z

Monty got to call that timeout with 7 seconds left, absolutely 0 reason not to. It’s not like the team had time to run up the court and get a good shot in, call the goddamn timeout!!!

Yeah, Suns win if they get literally anything out of their bench.

Losing the bench scoring battle by 30 in a 4 point game tells a story.

The demise of the Jazz has been exaggerated. When healthy they are still a very good team.

That thing where the Jazz jump up and grab the ball after a missed shot to gain possession is a really good move. I wonder if there is a term for that phenomenon. As a Suns fan, I wouldn't know.

This was one hell of a game. A fast paced, well officiated, back and forth affair that really let both teams show what they do best. Booker has done a pretty good job filling in at Point, but we are clearly hurting for a true PG right now. I really hope Cam (Payne) comes back soon, because taking Cam (Johnson) out of the bench lineup takes away our primary scoring option in the 2nd unit since Landry just can't seem to get past this slump.

GG Utah. That was a fun game until Jae Crowder literally threw it away.

Starters: 103-75 Suns

Bench: 43-11 Jazz

Horror show by the benchers. And Book is not a PG. 14 point lead pffffff just like that evaporated.

Might be a tough stretch without CP3. First time the Suns have lost two in a row all season. Hope we can hold onto the 1 seed.

Hard to watch ... 11 bench points. More losses within next couple of weeks!

We definitely miss CP3. Especially on that last possession, yikes. Utah is the team I think we’d struggle with most in the playoffs. Their size and offensive rebounding gave us fits today and that’s got nothing to do with CP3’s absence. They’re a tough matchup for us even when we’re healthy

Fustrating to see the 2nd game in a row now where the refs let the other team play hard defense late but not the Suns. Pelicans and Jazz getting calls like they made the finals last year and are #1. NBA is a joke. Suns have house money though so it's all good, onto the next.

Jazz exposed our weakness of defending 3s, our offense looked a little lost, and the bench was not up to par with what we're used to. It takes a little before playing consistently with our main playmaker in CP3, so no worries.

This is what happens when suns play real teams……

MITCHELL IS THE BEST SG IN THE LEAGUE

Our bench is a massive problem right now. Missing players and the ones we got playing like ****

Also call the ****ing timeout Monty. Giving me Finals game 5 PTSD

Sucks that instead of thinking we can achieve a franchise record of wins, we now have to hope we can hang on to the 1 seed the rest of the way.

Also giving a 22-8 run to end the first and then an 18-3 run to end the third ****ed any momentum we had.

I’m damn tired of the Book Mitchell comparisons. It’s all there was during that broadcast. Mitchell is a certified chucker and got super lucky on a couple of those (mainly the bank shot 3). 26 pts, 5 assists, 2 rebounds on 40% from the field while Booker went 30 pts, 7 assists, 7 rebounds on 50% from the field. Booker also played immensely better defense and has all season. It’s not a debate. Booker is a tier above Mitchell.

McGee was -20 in 13 minutes

If Mitchell doesn’t make that miracle banked three it’s a different outcome.

"Clarkson looks like he got makeup on.
He is a pretty man"
So true

"If Snyder doesn't do coke, I'm a chair"

"This might be controversial, but I really wish Chris Paul wasn’t injured."
Made me chuckle

"One a Jazz man always a Jazz man right Crowder??"
I said the same thing after that pass to the fans. With correct spelling.

"The demise of the Jazz has been exaggerated. When healthy they are still a very good team."
Got that right.

Hello Jazz, welcome to real defense
Thank you, and welcome to real offense.

Just wait....

They spent that whole segment sucking off the Jazz. I hate those gas bags over at ESPN
So for the single 16-3 run they say nice things about the Jazz. The entire rest of the game all they talked about was how the suns are a level above everyone else in the league and detailed all the reasons why the Suns simply cannot be beaten, and even in the 4th when we had the lead for the entire quarter all they could talk about was what the Suns needed to do to pull out the win, nary a word about how the Jazz gutted out a tough win. But yeah, I guess they are right to be mad it wasn't literally the entire game they were blowing the Suns, as there was that 3 minute stretch when they were forced to say something good about the Jazz.

In Crowder’s defense that guy in the 3rd row was wide open…
LOL

Suns would have won if Joseph Smith didn’t find those damn plates
Mind=blown

I had to read that quote a few times because I thought I was reading it wrong. How is that controversial? I guess you shouldn’t want your superstar to be healthy I guess.
Quin yelled the magic words and Jae carried out his pre-loaded programming
Sums up his time in Utah to a tee. Great for the first 3 and a half quarters then he’d shrink. Or he’d make his first three attempts then spend the rest of the game shooting you out of a game.

If you don't get it by now, you will never never never get it.

Haha, haven't read the Game Thread yet but those Crowder comments are what I was saying during the 1st qtr even. He always brings you the toughness and energy but he can also shoot you in or out of a game and that same energy that has been helping can sometimes hurt you.

I was telling my son that he is a bit like Clarkson in that way, just how they go about it is different. Jay brings toughness where Clarkson brings a spark of energy and on any given night they can both win you or lose you games.

Good comp and explanation of the two.
