ESPN article about Rudy as a Hall of Famer?

I don't know. I sure don't mind his take on Rudy and us more generally in that article. His podcast is very kind to us as well.

Also, regarding Rudy in the HOF, I had made these comparisons in another thread but here’s how he stacks up for career per 36 minutes to two other HOF in Ben Wallace and Dikembe Mutombo, and one future HOF in Dwight Howard. Each category is ranked in order.

I’d also add that while these categories are somewhat arbitrary, I tried to grab any major statistical category somewhat relevant to this comparison. That said, Rudy is the leader among these four players in 5/9 categories, is top two in 8/9, and is last in none. Dikembe leads in 2/9 categories, as well as Wallace leading in 2/9 (one is a tie in assists with Rudy) and Howard leads in one category.

I firmly believe Rudy Gobert is a Hall of Fame player. Yet this John Wilmes fellow wrote an essay on RealGM concerning our starting center. Wilmes is vexed as to why Rudy draws so much criticism from the other players. I, having studied human nature for what seems like centuries, am equally perplexed. Rudy plays hard, block shots, and appears at games unlike this Benjamin Simmons fellow. He passes health and sanitation statutes unlike this Mr. Kyrie Irving, who purports that our world is flat. He does not ring chase like those who move to South Beach. Our Rudy is subjected to dishonorable smears and this state of affairs agitates me.

If 3 (easily will be 4 if not 5 by the time he hangs up the sneaks) DPOY along with league-leading advanced stats on both offense and defense for multiple years, along with 3 (soon to be more than that, 6 maybe? 8? who knows?) All-star nods, are not enough to get him into the HOF then the HOF is seriously broken. Gobert is easily the most decorated and impactful defensive big we have seen in decades, and others at his level or close have made it in. I would say, barring ultimate stupidity from the HOF voters, he is a lock to be in the HOF one day.
