Game Thread Apr 28, 2022 08:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Mavericks - Game 6

Added to Calendar: 04-28-22

You gotta give it to the Mavs though, they got more backbone than the Fraudzz. They took the Clippers down to the wire to game 7 last year, while the Pretenderzz simply choked and phased out like lottery team. Respect to Luka and Mavs.

Been a hard frustrating year. Trading Ingles hurt not only me personally but I’m sure the team as well. Hate to see it, but a retool / blow up is needed . Back to square one re-tooling and planning on a Jazz championship run. I pray and hope that I’m alive to see it.

Reasons we lost this series
1. Three of our 5 starters are undersized. If you're undersized, you better be quicker and faster. We were slow and short
2. Two of our 5 starters are not threats on the offense.
3. Our defensive strategy was to funnel players into Rudy. If Rudy isn't there, there is no one there. We had no wing defenders.
4. 5 out completely takes Rudy out of the defense.
5. Dallas was able to slow down Donovan and take him out of his normal game.
6. Quin was not able to make adjustments during the games when Dallas went on runs.
7. We worked all season to get Conley to the playoffs healthy just to have him totally run out of gas.
8. Royce was dreadful in the playoffs and didn't do well on defense or offense.
9. in 2020 we got torched by Jamal Murray, 2021, we got torched by Reggie Jackson and Mann, we did nothing to address this problem.
10. As Stephen A said, if there is something that can go wrong for the Jazz, it will go wrong.

At least it was a good game.

I really liked the way Mitchell played offensively (terrible defense for large stretches, but what you going to do).

The 3rd quarter was a nightmare tho. That's where we lost the game.

Sucks that Mike and Bogey really choked down the stretch. Wish Quin would have just called a timeout in that scenario, but alas. I'm glad we didnt just defer to hero ball.
Yeah but Mike’s been doing this long enough not to do THAT.

Really ****ing sad ending. I tuned in right at the end to bid farewell but hoped I didn’t have to.

Niang and Ingles of last year would have made a massive difference in this series.
Niang was completely unplayable in the playoffs. Shot like 17% from 3. So I guess he would have fit right in.

Niang was pretty good in the Memphis series, but people like to forget that and only remember the Clippers series where he had bad matchups. He would have been fine in this series.

I'm not even joking when I say that I think Niang would have guarded Brunson better than a lot of our defenders this year. Niang's issue was when he had to go up against bigger wings like Kawhi/PG/MOrris/Batum.

conley went undecided that's why he stopped and travelled. a bonehead play for a vet PG. but then he never really played well all series. he was invisible, he had no impact. he was just riding along whereas he should be taking over. at times he looks afraid to shoot. he should be the first one gone next season.
