The What Can We Get For Bogey Thread

I could talk myself into a THT/Nunn and an unprotected first for Bogey... but that is a non-competitive move and I assume that would only be on the table if Rudy or Donovan are moved.
I've thought about that one long and hard, but just can't talk myself into it. THT, Nunn and a 1st for Bojan just doesn't work out for us.

THT is the rare guy that went from crazy overrated to maybe slightly underrated. I don't think he is good but he is in a pretty rough situation for the type of player he is... or could be.

Don't get me wrong... I don't think he is worth his contract but he could be a guy that looks better outside of Lebron/LA's shadow. If Nunn got healthy he's a solid 3rd guard. We'd have to move JC and Mike for both of them to get significant playing time.

That's a trade that tells me they will blow it up after the year but it could end up surprising us that the players aren't complete trash.

I don't hate THT, but I don't see that as good value for Bojan.

If we do go the scorched earth route (trading Don and Rudy), it could be a good trade, but it doesnt look good supporting Don and Rudy, Don or Rudy.

But THT does play really hard. He might just need another shot.

Alright here is one that everyone can hate...

Utah out - Bogey, Royce, and Gay
Utah In - Gordon Hayward and PJ Washington, plus the 15th pick in the draft.

Charlotte in - Bogey and Richaun Holmes
Charlotte out - Hayward, Washington, #15

Sacramento in - Royce and Gay
Sacramento out - Holmes

Sac gets some wing help and gets out of Holmes deal... he was out of the rotation towards the end of the year... partly with some personal reason stuff. Sabonis and Holmes don't fit. Gay played well in Sacramento before... Royce gives them some wing help. They have some cap space so salaries don't have to be perfect.

Charlotte gets some salary flexibility and a center that pairs really well with Lamelo. He's on a reasonable salary and they get Bogey to replace Gordo on the wing.

Hayward's trade value being lower than Westbrooks (supposedly) is high comedy to me. I don't care about the history... just move on. If he's healthy he's a great fit. If not its only a two year deal. Washington is a great 4/5 option for us potentially... and then we hit it out of the park at #15 and draft the next Giannis or SGA or Donovan or Haliburton.

You are all welcome.

Theoretically THT could fit next to Donovan. The shot looks pretty hopeless to me and to turn theory into reality that is the piece that needs to come along.

How do we embrace a Hayward return?
I think he is destroyed goods

I'm sort of over the whole Hayward thing at this point...I'd be fine with him coming back. Obviously Gordon's health is a huge question mark, but if he can somehow stay healthy that would be a great trade for us. I've always liked PJ's game, especially his defense, and I would love to get that draft pick.

I think the teams that are competitive now will be interested in Bogey. He does add a lot to a playoff-contending team.
The next question is do the Jazz want to blow it up or stay competitive.

Charlotte makes a lot of sense for Terry Rozier and their pick. (and or PJ Washington)
Atlanta for Gallinari and Huerter and a pick
MAYBE Orlando wants to get rid of oft-injured Jonathan Isaac and his contract.
Celtics and Derrick White?

There are some options but I still want a blow up

I’m a huge fan of PJ Washington for this team. I really wanted us to go get him was him name was being tossed around during the deadline. He fits no matter which direction we go.

I’d actually love to run it back with some version of:

Gobert
PJ
Royce?
Fournier
Mitchell

Paschall
House
Reddish
Clarkson
Ingles (duh)

More well rounded, not tiny, and hopefully better vibes.

Wait, is that more well-rounded?

The defense only marginally improves, we have less on-ball creators, less shooting. The only real positive is we get bigger.

I think we have this misconception on Fournier... that because he's taller than Mike he's a better defender. He isn't. The Knicks were atrocious defensively when he was on the floor.

In the playoffs Boston's defense with Fournier was 32 pts per 100 possessions worse last year... not 3.2... 32.

Yes, that is more well rounded. You compromise on some of your strengths to address your weaknesses. Fresh faces, players with some upside, different ways you can play. Much better than sticking with a stagnant group with proven failures/weaknesses and no logical way for improvement.

I'd rather have Bogey than Fournier in the mix you suggested. I think Reddish is poop... if he was a good defender I think Thibs would have played him... maybe he can resurrect his career but he's not one I'd want to bet big on.
