Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Remember that video from the playoffs where Donovan and Quin are caught on a hot mic talking about how they tried to feed Gobert the ball and now they don't have to anymore? It's like the coach and the star player are laughing at Rudy in the middle of an effing playoff game.

I think the Jazz definitely want to trade Gobert, but they won't get the offer they want until a couple days before the draft. So they're blowing some smoke in the meantime. Things will get serious after the draft lottery when trade discussions really shake out.

In a series where our perimeter defenders were swiss cheese and we shot 27% from 3, morons are still blaming Rudy, lmao.

There are several things wrong with the Jazz. Rudy's offensive limitations are only one of them.

Replace Rudy with a more versatile center, and now you don't have to run a small pick-and-roll point guard like Mike Conley to play off of Rudy. Now you can be bigger on the perimeter on both offense and defense.

Replace Rudy with a more versatile center, and now all 5 guys on the floor can score against a switching defense.

I'm not saying Rudy can't work. But I'm saying the Jazz have backed themselves into a corner and they're stuck with a system that's a little out of date.

I'll try to be clear here -- I don't have a problem with Gobert, but he needs to play with a big, dynamic wing, like Hayward. The Jazz not only lost Hayward in free agency, they have since lost the lower-tier version of Hayward in Joe Ingles. They don't have Rubio either. So now they no longer have the ability to get Rudy the ball where and when he needs it. The Jazz have mismanaged their assets and don't have the right roster construction to make Rudy successful or rely on him less.

In this situation, the right thing to do is probably to trade Rudy while his value is high.

Wasn't the Joe Ingles PnR with Rudy like the most efficient play in basketball in the 20-21 season? Who says it has to be a small point guard? And does Conley even qualify as a "pick-and-roll" point guard? He was always more pick-and-pop.

The Jazz absolutely need a big wing with ball skills who can play in pick-and-roll in order to maximize Rudy's value. The Mavs would love to put Rudy next to Doncic, for example. But the Jazz don't have that player right now, and don't appear to have the assets to get one.

Regardless, I'm guessing Danny Ainge would rather pay a guy like Robert Williams $15 million than pay Rudy his current vet max deal.

If the Jazz want to try a hail mary, I suppose they could try to trade for Ben Simmons. If that doesn't work out though, we're stuck with one of the worst contracts in the history of the league.

Rudy has too many weaknesses for the amount of money he is paid. He wouldn't get as much hate and hostility for his offensive handicaps if he had a lesser contract. The money isn't his fault but him sucking on offense is on him and not the fault of the Jazz as many of his piss poor worshippers are convinced of. His lack of offense and his inability to create any type of shot is utterly disgraceful.

Lol. I went to sleep. Don't be afraid that there are other people out there with the same thoughts on Rudy Gobert.

We are over your idol worship of Rudy where nothing is ever his fault.

The day he gets traded these mofos gonna cry rivers. I hope they leave with him to see him get crucified in another city for blowing layups and sucking on offense

Just like Hayward, Donovan wants to move to the big city. He's totally over Utah. His trade value won't go up from here anyways, better trade him before he can't even dunk. We should trade Rudy too if there's a good offer, as much as it hurts me to say. Looking forward to the tank/new team.

But he just let him come right to the rim? I thought he was a legendary rim protector? Why did you let him dunk me Don? Why?

Come on, man, this is just silly. Every good rim protector gets dunked on once in a while. If you don't, it's because you're _not_ a very good rim protector, because you won't be there to contest the difficult situations.

Great ****** defense Rudy just leaving your guy wide *** open.

LoPo has to resort to **** like this because he knows he’s beat in every way. Surely he’s smart enough to see that Gobert is out of position because he has to guard not only his guy, but Don’s guy too. As a quote on quote JAZZ fan YOU should know this. Cy was right, you are a damn weasel!!! For showing that clip of Don being at fault, but you putting the blame on Gobert who by the way is the hardest working player on the team who competes harder than anyone on the team. Shame on you!! Idiot!!!

Never questioned Rudy's effort. Not once. He takes every matchup personally. I've never understood the Rudy hate in the press and among other NBA players. **** Lebron, btw. I partly blame Donovan. The way that covid deal went down completely soured me on Donovan. Anti-French sentiment, maybe he's not black enough, and the fact that he doesn't play the superstar persona also hurt him. I ****ing love Rudy.
