Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Harris is a much better facilitator than Bogey, too. More athletic, and definitely isn't as much of a liability. Thybulle is a hell of a defender that can still has potential.

Bruce Bowen couldn't shoot when he came into the league, but developed an efficient corner 3 later into his career. You hope that our new coaching staff will have a better ability to develop players, because in the past our ability to develop players has been pretty poor.

Tobias Harris and Thybulle make almost the exact same amount as Bojan, Royce, Rudy Gay and Juancho
It adds like $10M+ in payroll... we ain't keeping Juan at $7M. Add 1.9M for each player you lose in a 1-2 deal. So is Harris/Thybulle like $40M better than those guys this year? Next year the cost is like $40M higher.

I don't see it.

You move Rudy Gay which makes use of his salary. You just have to find a way to shed Conley. Orlando?

Bro hear me out…

What if we just kept Juancho at his current salary?

Just theoretically, thinking about three SGs on the rumor mill. Would you rather have (next to Donovan)?:
Oladipo at 10-ish million
Heurter at 14.5 million
Trent Jr at 17.5 million
this is a good question. if oladipo could be close to his efficiency level of last year, he'd be the guy - but it was a bit of an aberration. the question would be has he turned a corner at age 30.

gun to my head, probably VO at the $10 MM

The more I look at free agency and the current landscape, the less I see the Jazz dealing Mitchell or Gobert this year.

With that said, I’d like to see the Jazz try to consolidate assets and attempt to get a “3rd star” to team up with Rudy and Don at the deadline. DL left the cupboard bare. Ainge needs to try to fill it back up without moving one of the cornerstones. If that move needs to happen, do it when you’re more guaranteed to get back a potential start as value.

I like Thybulle. I really love his defense, and think If his offense can improve to average he'll be great.

With that bias in mind I looked at his stats to see if I could see some trend that would give a glimmer of hope for his offense. The only thing I saw is that his FT% jumped a ton last year up to 79%. He also took the ball inside more last year where he was a decently efficient.

Here's the bad. He's a 28% 3pt shooter from wide open, and most of his shots are wide open. It's actually better to not guard him. He would destroy spacing. I just don't think you can have a guy that shoots that bad on wide open shots playing major minutes next to Gobert.
