Matthews meeting with Blazers!

He is a nice role player, but not a cornerstone.

He wants to get his full market value. Nothing wrong with that. But if the Blazers give him a ridiculous offer the Jazz need to call their bluff and let them him go.

After the fallout from drafting Hayward and letting Boozer walk I think the Jazz will be damned if they're gonna let Portland steal Matthews away. Plus, I don't think Portland is going to offer him anything above the MLE.

Portland can't offer him more than the MLE even if they want to, but offering him the full MLE is overpaying IMO. Hopefully Portland won't go there.

I agree and doesn't that hurt the blazers for using all their ml as well so they can't get what they really need?. As much as i love him he does have flaws in his game and if the price is way too much forget it. But also if that was the case match and use him in trade as well. Jazz show too much loyalty to players where they pay too much for them.

Agreed. There are plenty of solid players out there that would play for much less than what he'll likely get. Just look at some of the rookies in the summer league. Just compare Matthews' performance last year to now and you can see how a little confidence and playing time can boost a guy's game up a few notches.

At any rate, I like Matthews and how hard he plays. However, he's a little short to guard many of the bigger guards out there. He isn't quite a banger nor is he super long. I wouldn't like losing him, but it's not terrible if we do. Although, I do really like him as person.

Ronnie Brewer!!!! Now trade Hayward for Maynor & resign Harpring....THE PLAN COMES TOGETHER.

Has KOC contacted Collin's agent?

Jazz already are likely letting Korver walk..i don't see them allowing Wes to get away also, but knowing Portland they'll do what they did last yr just to make us pay more than we'd originally intended to.

Matthews saw how well it worked for Millsap. He is using Portland to get the biggest possible offer and then hopes Utah will match. Portland is glad to help try to screw the Jazz. Jazz will match if Portland offers but I wouldn't mind if they called Portland's bluff and let him go. If the Jazz do match they'll do the same they did with Millsap -- wait until the last minute so that it ties up Portland's cap money for a while.

The end.

Portland had some use for Milsap as least as a backup. They have absoluetly no use for Matthews with Roy, Fernandez, Batum, and Babbitt. KOC will call their bluff and laugh at them when we find a seamless replacement.

That's it we're dead.

What the hell is Wes Matthews, a free agent doing talking to other teams?
