Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Here is my bet… Donovan is more likely to be a member of the Heat or Nets than Knicks.

Three team scenario where we get all the Miami picks, Herro goes to the nets because they can’t find anything for Ben… we get the Phoenix picks from 2025/2027/2029 and all the Miami draft capital plus swap rights. We take whatever salary we have to… Duncan, Joe Harris… we get like 6 picks and dismantle further from there.
The Knicks might panic

I actually don't think the Jazz are going to do anything to help Brooklyn. I think they are bluffing to drive the price up for New York. That's the only play. If there is no New York deal, you just hold on to Donovan. The Brooklyn and Heat deals are garbage. Jazz will take Ayton from Phoenix if the deal is good enough (A player and a first.) Otherwise I think they just might start doing small ball deals to trim age off the roster and get picks.
I don’t think that’s their only play at all… I mean Rudy to Minny came out of nowhere.

I actually think the Phoenix picks in 2025/27/29 could get real juicy… Brooklyn won’t necessarily want to wait as they don’t have their own picks so a slow patient build is gonna be real tough. The Miami picks aren’t juicy at all… but anything can happen and naked picks in the future are generally only going out from teams that are confident they can be good. I doubt NY is that confident.

So the KD trade seems to be coming down to this ---

PHX can offer Ayton, Bridges, Cam and a boatload of picks, but BRK wants an All Star. Hence, the Jazz could get involved with Mitchell, but it also means that Simmons would need to be traded somewhere. A day or so ago, this was the front-runner to get a deal done. Ainge is going to ask for a lot for Mitchell, obviously, but if the Jazz take Ayton, Cam and half the picks, that might make it work. I could also see Ainge asking for BRK to add a couple assets too.

TOR can offer OG, GTJ, Precious and a boatload of picks. BRK is going to ask for Scottie Barnes. If Toronto agrees to send Barnes, I'd imagine the Nets will take that deal. It also means that BRK can keep Ben Simmons.

NOLA can offer Ingram without requiring the Nets to trade Simmons in a separate deal, since Ingram isn't a Designated Player. NOLA can also offer draft capital, including their own picks and some Laker assets.

MIA can offer Bam, Herro, Robinson and picks, but KD wants Bam to still be on the Heat's roster. Without Bam, it's probably not enough to get a deal done, and Simmons would still need to be traded. I don't think MIA has what it takes to trade for KD. TBH, I don't think MIA really has the assets to trade for Mitchell either.
It seems like with most of these scenarios, other teams absolutely need the Jazz to step in as a 3rd team to get things done. If we know this, and the media knows this, you can bet your *** Ainge knows this x’s 10.

The more this drags on, the more I hope we end up keeping Donovan and trying to make it work, but if the Jazz do end up trading him, you can bet the farm that Ainge is going to leverage the living **** out of 2 teams at once and the haul is gonna make our eyes pop outta our heads.

In a world where we keep Donovan, I’d really like to see us add Ayton and go from there. It probably costs us Bogey and a pick, but with some of the rotational pieces we got from Minny, you probably can’t convince me that the Jazz wouldn’t be just as good or better than last season. There still would have to be some roster tweaking, but Vanderbilt/Beasly/Beverly each bring something to the table the Jazz were missing and each one of those players is an upgrade from Royce and we just happen to have all 3. Ayton’s going to make the Jazz much better offensively at the Center position and while we’re losing the best rim protecter in the league, we’d certainly be better at defending the perimeter- which seems to be our biggest problem come playoff time.

Add to that the fact that we’ve got a brand new HC that will probably have 100% buy-in from guys who started to tune out Quin as well as the fact that Donovan will be seen as the last man standing in his clash with Gobert so he’s probably playing with the added incentive of showing everyone the Jazz made the right decision.

DA/Jazz are in a really strong negotiation position. Both NY/BKYN would like to have local kid. If we don't get the haul we want now, DM will command as much or more next year. RyRy gets his all star boy. Patients is going to payoff. I trust DA to squeeze every penny out of this.

I think people also need to consider the impact of public perception here. The Nets are going to lose Harden, KD and Kyrie all in a matter of months. The dream of a team that was the Las Vegas favorite to win the championship just blew up completely. The Nets need to be able to declare the KD trade a real win to stop the hemorrhage. They need a star like either Mitchell or Scottie Barnes to be able to show that they're not going to hit rock bottom.

But the Knicks are also in a similar situation after last year's disappointing season. They just hunted after Jalen Brunson like he's a star when he really isn't. They need a Mitchell badly as well.

Mitchell has a PR value, especially in New York, that will help heal either circumstance, at least in the short term.

I also think the PHX picks are very valuable because building a team with a foundation of Chris Paul and Kevin Durant with little depth around them is building on quicksand.

Brooklyn is going to want all the cream out of the Twinkie in a Jazz, Suns, Nets three way. They are going to want those Phoenix picks AND Bridges AND Mitchell. Screw 'em. Knicks will buckle, even if we need to let them experience life a bit with Brunsen as their "superstar." As bad as we feel like we would be fleecing them, they generally make worse decisions.

If I were trading Mitchell, I'd want Bridges, Ayton and at least two picks. I'm not sure the Jazz will be able to get that in this deal.

I think they might if it means the Suns land Durant. They already want Ayton gone, and if their last option in acquiring Durant comes down to trading Bridges, I don’t think they’re gonna say no.

Agreed. The Nets preferring Don as the centerpiece for a Durant trade is great for his value.

They actually have the best potential package, but I doubt KD wants to go back there. Not the best for his legacy.
He basically said something along the lines of “if you’re the warriors you have to at least inquire” then went on to explain how they’d have best package. He never once said that he had ant inside scoop they were actually inquiring. And the proposed package is wayyyy too much.

What would the Nets receive in this trade scenario if we get Bridges / Ayton?
