What's new

I don’t think a single guy in this roster makes this team. Butler included.

He might stick just because he’s cheap this year, but nothing I see thinks he’s going to make an impact.

He's on a guaranteed contract, he is 10000% going to make the team unless he gets traded in a bigger deal.

I saw Butler turn in some stinker games with the Stars.
That’s discouraging. So at best we’re looking at maybe Trey Burke? A 11th or 12th man off the bench. Should’ve drafted Herb Jones. I know Dennis gets criticized and rightfully so. But it’s not like the current regime is much better with regards to the draft.

I don't think the current regime was really a thing last draft.

Butler is out there playing without much talent and has big men who are playing against their strengths. Not a great showing for him, but him failing in this setting isnt that much of a red flag.

Probably not the starting PG of the future, but he doesnt have to be that to be successful.

He can't beat his guy off the dribble at all... Not sure how much does that have to do with teammates. And it ain't even NBA all defense level guys guarding him

Danny Ainge drafted Tatum, Brown, Grant, Time Lord, Smart lol

You got good teammates you to options to kick out to and there's gravity on the court. He beats anyone OTD in this game and he's in the middle of an entire team of 6'6+ guys with huge wingspans who dont have to guard their man.

Starters shot horribly. The second five guys shot it decently. I counted six DNPs tonight so I assume these guys will get some burn tomorrow. We also got outrebounded a ton. Some of our free agent guards did OK. Kofi did not look good imho.

Good hell OKC looked good… Holmgren and Williams looked as good as advertised.

Butler will be fine. Was way out of rhythm early… got it together later… think he had like 20 potential assists but no one was really shooting and the bigs were awful. So many pump fakes.

Usher is fine… couple other guys are fine… pretty boring team overall

Oh cool! We got those guys on our roster?! Man we’re guaranteed to be in the WCF next year!

Yeah, obviously if/when Ainge does that over the next decade with this team, that’ll be awesome. But until then? Im sort of basing my views on our drafts during the Lindsey regime and the two years post. In the last 2 years we’ve drafted Butler who looks like a bust and nothing. Do we all have high hopes for Ainge? Sure. But we don’t have anything to show for it yet other than a bunch of future draft picks. Which again, is nice… but we did also give just a top 3 center in the league for them. I hope we got the better end of that deal but until we draft guys like Tatum, not sure we can give the current regime much credit.

This summer league team is devoid of talent. The regular jazz team isn’t that much better. I don’t think we’re making the playoffs next year.

It's pretty hard to be worse than DL IMO. You can‘t find too many FO passing up 6'6+ switchy athleric wings in favor of 7’0 big men with no offense or 6’0 guards with zero defense in today’s NBA. That's kinda Dennis Lindsey’s motto and exactly why we failed.

Passing up on herbert Jones and drafting butler last year looks just as bad as anything Dennis did.

Ainge wasn't hired until December, 6mos after the Butler pick took place. It was still DL’s crew in charge then. JZ is a puppet and he even went on and say Dok was the right pick because his team believe Dok was the best player available. Yet Andy Larsen/Tony Jones/basically all jazz writers now saying DL was the one responsible for the Dok pick
