I probably think of team offense and defense a little too simplistically, but I basically consider the team like a chemistry equation. You have net positive, net negative, and net neutral defenders and offensive players. To have a total team net positive defense you need enough positive defenders to counteract the negative defenders. With only 5 players on the court at a time it's very difficult to counteract more than one negative defender. If we are keeping Mitchell who is either a -1 or -2 defender, then it's really difficult to be a good defensive team without all the other players being neutral or positive defenders.
Hence I think Bogey needs to be traded either way we go.

Yes, WE will be fine. The Utah Jazz - a team we do not play or work for - will have a putrid to mediocre season.

Agree. Don has to be our worst defensive player otherwise we are ****ed and might as well blow it up.
I may have blinders on, but I have an unfounded hope that we can keep DM, and rebuild around him.
Maybe it's stupid to hope we can do a hybrid of keeping some of the people we have now and using the picks we have to become a contender in 3-5 years.
I admit that, but I really hate giving up on people.
Its probably more realistic to jump on board with many of you and embrace the full tank, call for the trade of DM and anyone else of value to use all teh picks and build a contender where they are all on the same time frame.
Yes, I know it's dumb, but I'm not the GM so I can have my hopes and dreams however unrealistic.
I like most of the players that come through here and root for them after they leave unless they give me a reason not to.
I'll just stay in my fantasy land... and if Ainge keeps DM and tries to rebuild around him I'll hope for the best and root for them to succeed.
If we go full tank... I'll root for them to succeed.
