The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

I like working from home, and it is a necessity for my health anyway. My job is being phased out over the next few years, though. It will be interesting to see if the job ends before I plan to retire in 3 years. It will likely be close.

This is one of the big issues at stake this midterm. Do you believe women should be free to move around the country or not?

This concept is crazy to me. Are red states going to pay people bounties (like Texas) for reporting a woman going to another state for an abortion? Are they going to have police at Amtrak stations and airports checking for baby bumps? Do we really want to live in a society that forces 10 year old girls to give birth and intimidate doctors that might’ve helped? All we’re doing is letting rapists decide who the mother’s of their children will be.

This is an industrialized country?

Why vote for Republicans?

We all know if his daughter has been raped he’d find a way to get it aborted…

How is this helpful?

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R), who is facing reelection, has so far declined to comment on the law he signed that prompted a 10-year-old rape victim this month to travel to neighboring Indiana for the procedure. In Texas, attorney general Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit Thursday to block Biden administration guidance that requires doctors to perform abortions when they believe the procedure is needed to stabilize a mother in an “emergency medical condition.”
Do you want your wife or daughter to die because Republicans outlawed her health care?

If you don’t, then I’d highly recommend voting for Democrats to keep these extremists out of power.

I hope you make it. Since you’re a public employee you’re entitled to the old pension system, aren’t you?

I wish I could work from home. My wife has been able to do it part time and it’s been a godsend. She enjoys it a lot. It just makes so much sense when you consider commute time and gas, child care, and being able to get other things done around the house in between calls and meetings.

Oh weird. It’s almost like gas prices go up and down due to a host of forces. Weird. I still blame Biden. Why the hell not?

Yeah but so does the economy yet every president and their party takes credit for any incremental improvement, so of course they are going to be blamed by the other side for any loss that can be manufactured. This is an old-school tactic that's been going on for decades. Sitting presidents take credit for anything good that happens in the economy and get vilified for anything bad when in reality the president has very little to do with any of it.

So why not widen our views on how to judge presidents? I think Biden has done very well with foreign policy. Russia would’ve conquered Ukraine by now had Trump remained president. And we all know Vlad’s best chance of conquering Ukraine is based on Republicans regaining control of Congress to cut off foreign aid and DeSantis/Trump gaining the White House in 2024. One could make an argument that NATO’s very existence depends largely on Republicans remaining out of power. Isn’t it nice having a president that works to get along with our European allies and isn’t falling in love with dictators like Kim?

I also like how Biden doesn’t dominate the headlines (as much as the media wants him to). He isn’t constantly tweeting or running his mouth. He’s actually in the White House rather than hosting pep rallies around the country to feed his ego because his daddy never loved him.

And as much as sometimes I wished he were more forceful, I like how he’s attempted to build bridges with Republicans and pass moderate legislation. Although, I think he’s finding out how absurd Republican obstruction is. Republicans would filibuster a cure for cancer right now than give Dems a W in the senate.

I really wish he’d rescind a bunch of the protectionist executive orders Trump put into place and I really don’t like our immigration policy. I believe our borders should be a lot more open and demilitarized. Allow for the free flow of immigrant labor, ideas, and ingenuity. Of course, no one wants to touch that out of fear of irritating the fragile feelings of the white working cwass that is afwaid of being wepwaced by the Spanish speaking brown horde caravan. While at the same time bitching nonstop about how slow drive thrus are.

It’s weird how the same demo that “loves” America the most seems to hate what makes America, America. Whether we’re talking about choice and freedom, public investment and social safety nets, or giving immigrants a chance, they hate America. Why is it? Why “make America great again?” If America isn’t great anymore and they prefer a corrupt oligarchy or a theocracy, why don’t they just leave? Russia or Iran might be a better place for them. Why are working class whites, especially those in rural areas, so afwaid of blacks, gays, Muslims, and immigrants?

I know everyone's going to come to The Thriller's defense because Team Democrat, but there is only one way to interpret this statement. He is condemning Republicans for not being smart enough to grasp his truth of brown people are for staffing drive thrus and if you don't have enough brown people then drive thrus will be slow.

Racism mixed with condescension. I still cheer for the basketball team, but I will never move back to Utah.

Energy prices are indeed driven by a host of forces. Biden certainly has not helped though by blocking keystone xl pipeline, placing a moratorium on new drilling on federal lands, and pushing an esg agenda that ignores basic science.

Capacity that was not needed, as the current pipelines suffice.

placing a moratorium on new drilling on federal lands,
Which would have no effect on the 2022 supply of oil.

and pushing an esg agenda that ignores basic science.
Not sure what "esg" is here,

He placed the moratorium as soon as he came into office. Its been in effect for almost two years now.

KXL probably wouldn’t have offered incremental barrels as TMX and rail are enough, but along with esg and permitting moratoriums, it just increases uncertainty in the energy space. Higher hurdle rates essentially close equity and debt markets to energy companies, starving investment for much need infrastructure build outs.

Is biden solely responsible for high energy prices? Certainly not. He hasn’t helped though.

18 months, and that's not enough time to go from lease to pumping.

I still don't know what "esg" is. Is there a shortage of leases available? Has the cost of leases for the purpose of producing oil increased?

Not sure what he could have done that would have helped this year.

This is just exploitation. McConnell and the GOP just hope this unhealthy man will be their useful idiot for more tax cuts and judges.

This is the celebrity effect in full bloom, where people of questionable intelligence and morality become celebrities through sports or entertainment, people tell them they are the greatest, they receive huge accolades in their chosen profession, they get millions of followers on social media, they get money, and by extension power, thrown at them left and right, they get fringe nut jobs "liking" everything they say, so they develop an inflated sense of their own intelligence and a heightened belief that their opinion matters more than everyone else's, for reasons. So they take that celebrity and end up in positions to speak their mind, only their minds are generally vacuous and only capable of twit-sized outbursts, so when they have to actually, you know, speak intelligently to any topic, they fail spectacularly. But somewhere there will be hundreds if not thousands of other morlocks hanging on their every word, eager to "like" and "subscribe" to their deleterious ******** as it eats away at the underpinnings of society like crashing waves took down that house in the news.

It is funny to laugh at, but anything but laughable considering it does real harm to the fabric of our society as people believe this **** and make decisions and do things that affect other people based on it. It is really terrifying in its own way.
