Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

I go back to a quote from Ryen Russilo on Danny Ainge... don't have the exact quote but essentially... "Danny is the most patient guy in every trade call". If this deal gets done in the next 3 weeks its because the Knicks caved.

Love it. If they can swing something like that, I’m all for including the 24 swap. Just don’t want to include assets that are likely to be worthless.
I think the total risk value of missing out on intercepting a high-pick is way higher than missing out on the value of one of the protected picks that are owed to the Knicks.

The point I really want to drive home is that the Jazz need to wind up with premium players after all is said and done. By the time all of their best players are traded for assets, they will have 0 premium players. So I'm putting a premium on premium opportunities (which includes snatching the Knicks' opportunities in that regard as well).

I've resorted to logging in and scrolling through multiple pages of who knows what because I don't read it. I only stop on the twitter images some of you leave. Then I come back and do it again. I can't read all of your amazing insights because of the stress of waiting for the other shoe to drop. If this waiting gets us more unprotected vs protected picks and Grimes, then it's worth the wait.

THE PELICANS

The fit is great, the relationship with Zion could be a huge boon, and they have excess premium assets.
Pelicans got enough things going for them that they dont need to take a risky shot like Barrett. They can probably make better moves.

According to the IceColdCubano this morning (yes, as always, grain of salt), the Heat have lined up trade deals to acquire more picks, and they are submitting an updated offer to Brooklyn this week for KD.

Where it gets interesting is that it appears that both Miami and New York are in agreement that they'd like a KD trade to happen before a Mitchell trade in order to reset market expectations created by the Gobert trade. If BRK accepts a trade package from Miami for KD (e.g., Herro, Robinson, bunch of picks), it will reset the market for a Mitchell trade to NYK, and hence, the Knicks' current offer for Mitchell will look more fair and reasonable.

If BRK keeps rejecting Miami's weak-sauce offers for KD, that might help to affirm the Jazz's position on what they want in return for Mitchell.

Zero shot Brooklyn does any Miami deal without Bam included. Then they’d have to move Simmons. It’s just super complicated and not likely to happen. It’s also hilarious that anyone thinks Durant won’t go for more than Gobert did. You think Brooklyn is going to take anything less than what he got?

Three, three, three.

-3 unprotected Knicks picks
-3 protected picks
-3 pick swaps.

Matching salary (Fournier, Redish) and Quickley (they don’t need him).

Move the **** on.

So are the heat just going to work out a deal for DM and then once Brooklynn knows what DA would accept from the Heat DM the heat can make that offer to Brooklynn for Durrant. Then the jazz can go back to the offer from NY?

Quickly’s really not good. Gotta get Grimes and Mcbride.

According to Stein Heat are trying to find additional firsts and are all-in on getting KD or Donvan.

Herro and Strus can get how many picks? From who? At very least it gives us an offer to tell NY beat it.
