This. If i got the #1 pick I'd probably look at trading down to 3-5 and gaining assets and let someone else take the wemby gamble. He screams high bust potential.
when has DM asked to be traded let alone traded to NY!

Yeah. It’s a top 2 draft. Even with the risk, if you’re in the top two picks and walk away with someone other than Wemby or Scoot, you probably messed up.The farthest I’d trade down would be to #2 to take Scoot. Anything other than that is utterly ridiculous.
He could be the next Anthony Bennett or Larue Martin.Yeah. It’s a top 2 draft. Even with the risk, if you’re in the top two picks and walk away with someone other than Wemby or Scoot, you probably messed up.

Totally agree with that. I do not understand the wibe around him. He is talented for sure, but at this stage of his carreer, he is not strong, can't shoot well. Far from NBA player. But yes he got a great potential but as many high draft players in the past who never made it..Yeah not sure. I remain skeptical. The film I have seen is obviously cherry-picked and belies the stats. We'll see I guess. If we end up drafting him I will pray and cheer for him to be a combo of Jokic and Gobert. But I won't hold my breath for it.
At around the same age, Dirk was beginning to get minutes and starting to play well in second division of German League.No. But he shot 20 something % from 3, not 41.8% like Dirk. And he did it in a lesser league.
Dirk came over and his rookie year was the 1998-1999 season. In seven games in the Euro Championship in 1996 (I don’t see 1997), he shot 48.7%/29.2%/73.8% on 8.7 free throw attempts per game along with 6.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.0 steals. At around the same age, Dirk was beginning to get minutes and starting to play well in second division of German League.
Oh, he also shot %26 from 3 his last season before he came over.

That Euro Championship was an Under-18 tourney...Dirk came over and his rookie year was the 1998-1999 season. In seven games in the Euro Championship in 1996 (I don’t see 1997), he shot 48.7%/29.2%/73.8% on 8.7 free throw attempts per game along with 6.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.0 steals.
Wemby’s shooting stats arent nearly as good. 41/28/68.5 on a laughable 1.25 free throw attempts per game. And that’s in the two leagues combined this past year. If you look at the Euroleague, his shooting stats are considerably worse. Dude is soft and gonna be a bust.
In everyone’s defense, what are we supposed to do while the Knicks FO sits around pretending Danny isn’t going to win this trade?867 pages and maybe 2-4 pages worth of actual rumors.

Does anyone know more details of the protections on the 2029 pick that the Wolves owe the Jazz? It is “top-5 protected”, but what if the pick falls in the top-5? Does it convey in a later year, or is that even allowed? Does it turn into 2nds? Does it just vanish? This is not exactly a small detail.
I’d be curious to hear people’s dream deal (let’s try and keep ‘em in the realm of possibility) as well as the minimum package people would accept.Hope the deal gets done soon, waiting to know who to cheer for stinks, and the whole vibe going into the season would be bad bad.
There's enough interested parties around the league to get a good price, don't let the perfect dream deal keep us from taking a good deal.
