Vs.

Team R

Defense: C >>> R

Spacing: R > C

Shaq > Embiid

Elvin Hayes would absolutely abuse Tatum. Automatic bucket and huge rebounding advantage. But I’m also not sure who Hayes guards. Probably just crowd Tatum and hope to get him off the 3-point line and hope the rotations work which I think is a better bet than a silky wing trying to contain one of the more bruising players ever.

If all else fails C could turn to a zone defense if need be

Completely disagree on spacing.

Penny was better from outside than Wade. Jordan better than Drexler. Iggy far better than English. Embiid infinitely better than Shaq obviously.

Only Tatum has an advantage (a big one) over Hayes.

Iggy in his prime wasn’t a good 3pt shooter. English, you had to know where he was at all times or he’d drop 50 in a heartbeat no one had a better mid range game than him.

In his all star season the one I selected he shot 40 percent on 4 attempts a game

Still think English is a better floor spacer as a pure scorer, all time leading scorer of the 80’s. His midrange shot was as deadly as Kareem’s skyhook, and had he played for a good team he would be drafted in these things like in the third round at the latest. There’s more ways to space the floor then just being a good three point sharpshooter. He was basically the Steph Curry of the mid rang game.

Also, relax I still voted for you, but I don’t view AI as much of a floor spacer. Teams weren’t all that worried about him shooting threes. I’m pretty sure teams lived with him shooting out there regardless of his % I still see English as a better floor spacer

Iggy had five seasons shooting 34.9% or better from three on about 2.5-3 attempts per game. He shot 33% for his career on 2.7 attempts per.

English shot 21.7% for his career with 0.1 attempts per.

To act like English is going to help stretch the floor more is completely disengenuous.

Also, Team R has five really high usage players. Weird construction.

Generally 3 point shooting is more important when talking about spacing but I get your point

Iggi shot 33% his first 5 seasons including his one Allstar year and in that time averaged 2.8 attempts. Defenses needed to focus on English, truely one of the elite offensive the league has seen and his mid range game was un-defencable you had to hope he had an off night. Still, no one was too worried about Iggy shooting threes. Yes he could shoot them but no one was afraid of him shooting 3’s
