1. It helps save Ryan some money given we ain't winning **** the next couple of years meaning Jersey sale/tickets gonna tank hard.

2. So we put ourselves in a strong position to take on bad contracts in exchange for more draft picks.

We traded away Rudy’s max contract partially for more cap flexibility.
 
I don't hate it, but not a big fan.

Wonder if it's part of a wink wink deal for Westbrook + picks for Bojan/Conley/Gay or something.

Cause Westbrook+Bev in LA seems unlikely.

Ryan has plenty of money - you don't have to worry about him.

This doesn't hamper our ability to do that in the slightest.
 
Pat Bev is a 34 year old role player and wants to be on a winning team. Only so much you can get in return for that. Other teams know this so why would they give up anything of real value for him?

THT is 21 about to be 22 and is going to be on a bad team. If he puts up good numbers then great you can do a few things with him. If you believe he can be a useful player in the long run sign him to an extension. If you think he's just putting up stats because he's on a bad team then trade him by the deadline and there is your pick return.
Or he's bad on a bad team and he opts into his contract and guess what? Oh well because you're not trying to win next year anyways so what does it matter?

IF we are also the highest offer. There is very little upside here because of his contract situation… more downside than anything.

It’s whatevs… but we sold ourselves short here… unless it’s step 1…. Which I kinda think it is.
 
I think the worst part of this is we basically aren’t getting Westbrook and picks now because if we were why not wait and complete it altogether.
