What happens if the jazz just can’t find a trade for any of the vets expected to be traded with the jazz having 17 under contract and only being able to carry only 15?

This isn’t happening but just for the sake of the hypothetical they’d have to waive two players.

Probably a lot of teams that have more than 15 players under contract before season starts
Will be a lot of players waived next few weeks

We have to forfeit every game and are gifted the #1 pick. What you think happens fool? We cut two guys.

Lets say we can't find a trade for any of our marquee vets. Stanley Johnson can be moved easily into someone's cap exception and likely get a second for it. Then waive JB, Doke, or Rudy Gay and you are at 15... easy peasy.

They might find some trades, but the probability of getting back as many or more players in return is far, far higher than the probability of consolidating numbers (unless the Westbrook trade resurrects, somehow).

Do you think we move Stanley from a thin frontcourt (thin at least in terms of numbers of young guys we want to play) and keep all of our dozen (or however many it is) shooting guards?

No we need to offload a bunch of them too… Stanley is just super easy to move cuz he can be moved by himself right now and I think he has second round pick type value. The rest of our contracts will almost require 1 for 2 type of moves because of size… like bogey, Mike and JC are all kinda tough to find a direct 1 for 1 contract match.

Yeah, I don't think we should often expect inequitable (scaled, of course) trades like Rudy/DM. Those were historically lopsided. Kind of set us up for unrealistic expectations. We saw those unrealistic expectations with the Beverly trade. Worse case scenario is low end guys (Butler, Johnson, Bolmaro) for highly protected 2nd rounders or Tomic types of "considerations." But someone will give us a 1st for each of Bogey and Clarkson.

I suspect that trader Dan is looking for a three or four for one trade. OKC is in the same numbers spot the Jazz are. The Cavs might be a likely partner in an endeavor like this. They held a veteran's free agent camp this week looking for training camp invitees.

About a week ago Jake Fischer mentioned on his podcast that Bolmoro's name has come up in trade rumors lately. If any end of bench guys need to be moved, he'll likely be the first to go. Kind of a shame because I like his overall game, though his shooting and finishing at the rim need a lot of work.

I don't get the Bolmaro love. I watched a lot of Wolves games last year. I am super high on Vanderbilt. He will be a fan favorite quickly. Beasley might lead the team in scoring. Bolmaro was straight trash. Never flashed anything.

Still a number of trades in the Jazz future. Have to think that JB, Stanley Johnson and NAW would all be on the hot seat because they’re on relatively cheap, expiring contracts. I’d imagine that the Jazz would try to trade them into somebody’s cap space or a trade exception before just cutting them loose.

Coaching staff loved him in SL because of his defense primarily but also his handle and facilitating. Pretty sure he’ll get some minutes at the one this year. Obviously needs to work on his shooting.

Don’t forget about Paris Bass, he’s a goner for sure!
