DA/JZ Press Conference

I think a lot of this not trusting team mates thing stemmed from the coach. Quin was either clueless how to get the team to play together, or he fostered it and and encouraged this hero-ball mentality. I am glad he is gone too.
Not me. I think Donny got bigger than the team because of Ryan, not Quin. Quin was offered big bucks to stay and had no interest in Danny's plan. Makes perfect sense now why he left.

Quin was part of the team and shares in the blame/problem but I wouldn't place as much blame as you are. Coaches have different strengths and weaknesses and crazy part is Quin has multiple degrees at Duke, double major in philosophy and political science, and, later received a J.D. degree from Duke Law School in 1995 and an M.B.A. degree. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quin_Snyder

So maybe his style no longer fit or meshed with what the team had grown into and he even eluded to a big in his exit press conference that he felt the team had the talent but needed a different voice.

To me it was no one thing but a collection of different things that just all added up.
I didn't think Quin was a bad coach either, but the list of degrees he has doesn't mean anything about his ability to actually coach a team.

Ehh. That, or the Millers saw everything coming and ownership has little to do with this.

What are you talking about? The Thunder had hoards of picks from the WB and PG trades.

The 5 firsts in the PG trade were from Miami and LAC. How many will be in the lottery? (2022 went 12)
They got two protected firsts in the Westbrook trade.

Now compare to Jazz picks

"What are you talking about?"

That's the point. having future picks does not mean your rebuild gets done in 1-2 years. If your expectation is 1-2 years, your expectation is a miracle.

Nice straw man. I never said 1-2 years was my expectation. Keep the debate honest, please

I said the Jazz had a running start with their assets. You seem to be missing how picks will be parlayed into trades that accelerate the rebuild. It is not just drafting and developing.

That could also be a diss. Some people insist on a certain name and are not happy if addressed differently. Robert/ Bobby, Charles/ Chuck. It can be a way to put a pretentious person in their place.

Or not
lmao yeah, but it seemed pretty friendly.

Good for him. He didn’t say anything stupid. He’s a pro in the media. I’m glad he’s in Cleveland.

Lol he’s adding even more fuel to the Knicks fire I love it.

The comments in the press conference are crazy. Knicks fans are so jaded it’s crazy. They act like they aren’t but they’re trolling the Cleveland press conference so hard…

Have to admit I am kind of meloncholy about the whole thing. I really hoped we could ride DM and RG to the promised land and see them retire here. I know that doesn't happen anymore, but man did I love this team for 4 straight years probably as much as any other Jazz team we have had. Then last year, well really it started after COVID, it all just fell apart. Still had hope, but now it is over. It's tough, no doubt. I know it is the best we could do, that Mitchell was unhappy here and I believed in the mantra "trade one, trade both, blow it all up", which is what we did. Still kind of feels like a gut punch. I will miss this era of Jazz basketball no doubt.
