Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

The Bulls got excellent PG depth, maybe the best in the NBA.

They got Caruso, Donsume, and Dragic to replace Ball until he gets healthy.

They have some of the worst center depth. Their backups are Drummond and Tony Bradley.

Why in the hell would they give up a first and commit to Andre DRummond as a starter just to get Mike Conley?

Y'all just got to accept the fact that Mike Conley is going to be on the Jazz for another year. (Also given Locke's tone today about Conley, he isnt getting moved)

His contract is just too big currently at his age given how he nosedived the playoffs unless the Jazz want to give up something to get off him, which I would assume they dont.

If Mike plays well this year you might be able to trade him when he is in his expiration year.

If he plays well and there is an injury for a contending team I could see him getting moved. If not manage his minutes and can move him next year or if you really needs space you can waive and stretch his $14M guarantee and it clears like 19M in capspace. I don't see that scenario happening but its an option if we need it.

What if we had our cake and ate it? Trade Bojan for Crowder and their first and then swing Crowder and Gay at the deadline for Duncan Robinson and a Miami first?

miami is not that desperate to offload him
Ownership rarely tries to leak desperation that they are willing to send assets to save money.

He would be salary that gets the Jazz to the 90% of the cap requirement whereas the Heat are paying ~$40 million annually (salary + luxury tax) for the honor of benching him. Hard to believe they wouldn't be motivated to either save that money or better allocate it elsewhere.

How do you know that?

Their salary situation is rough going forward and their owner has largely not been a big spender... They need to extend Herro and likely would want to keep Strus next year which will through them into a big tax.

They can wait 12 months if they'd like but they will very likely dump some salary at some point or it will cost them some talent.
