Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Not to go back to the maelstrom but:

If the Bulls are trading Lonzo, it’s cuz they think he’s busted. So yeah, not sending assets for that. The value being swapped is present value (an NBA basketball player that can be really good, and saving them at least ~$20-30 million real dollars) for a CHANCE at future value.

I make that trade straight across, I’m not attaching ****.
Agreed. Lonzo has had knee issues going back to high school and is still owed over $60 mil the next 3 seasons. Love his archetype as a player but the injury issues are way too prevalent. I might trade them Conley but not trading any other assets considering the Jazz could potentially be on the hook for over $20mil in '24-25 when Conley is already off the books. The Bulls fans are basically resigned to the fact he will likely be out the entire '22-23 season after this surgery.

If Jazz are going to take a wild swing on that type of player I might monitor Ben Simmons this season to see if he fits with KD/Kyrie. Yes Simmons brings his own set of issues but depending on the asking price might be the better reclamation project. He could build up his confidence in relative anonymity out here in Utah compared to Philly or Brooklyn.

He is reaping second-hand karma for what a total douchebag his dad is.

Uh, no offense.

Seriously though it is too bad. He has the tools that is for sure.

But, you know, my empathy is tempered a bit. I mean now all he has to fall back on is the millions and millions he has "earned", before the age of 25, playing a school-yard game. I feel sooooo bad for him.

Kinda petty mate

Ball’s health needs to be built into any negotiation, as does his 20M/year contract (for like three more years, is it?). “But the potential” — yeah, his potential is why he was the #2 pick, but that isn’t his value anymore. I’m not sure a Conley/Ball straight swap is worth it, but definitely would not include a first rounder (even a late one), let alone two. You got best case beer goggles on. Someone needs to take your keys away and call you a cab.

You, like everyone else, has no actual idea what is going on with Lonzo's knee.
And yet somehow you think he is worth trading a 1st rd pick when you have no clue what is going on with his knee other than the fact that it needs another surgery? Even for Conley straight up he is not worth the risk and I have always liked him as a player.

I'll pound my chest in 2 years when hes playing games and still very good.
Honestly hope you will have the chance to do that... ain't rooting for Lonzo to fail. His dad is a douche (but also funny) but Lonzo seems like a good dude and he is fun as hell.
