Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

What we need, aside from winning the lottery with the Minnesota pick, is for Philly to get bumped from the play in and then move up in the lottery. Then we have the worst of Brooklyn and Houston.

Philly's slow start likely gets corrected. Even though they are having some injury woes... they have had a really tough schedule so their record isn't far off what should be expected. Brooklyn is still a ticking time bomb and they are a KD sprained knee away from going on a 2-12 stretch that throws them into the lotto. Philly is still capable of landing in the play in... but I bet that pick ends up being somewhere between 18-22 maybe like a 10-20% chance of being in the lotto.

You’re not thinking fourth dimensionally.

Dude, being a T'Wolves fan has to be 20x worse than being a Jazz fan.

They had two picks to draft Steph Curry, but they chose Johnny Flynn and Ricky Rubio.

Then they trade away their future picks, Walker Kessler and core players for an offensively limited 30 year old Gobert.

Ooooooohweeee I know the Wolves fanbase has to be sick to their stomach.
That Flynn pick was so so bad. iirc they already had a couple of recently drafted small point guards on their roster already. Such a bad pick.

Kyrie needs to return to the nets asap and get them back to their losing ways. They seem to be better since he has been suspended.

I get so much joy out of watching Minnesota suck. It’s hilarious to me how they were spinning after the trade that keeping McDaniels was some huge win.

Minnesota

5-8

As of today would be the #7 pick in the draft.

Brooklyn

5-7

As of today would be tied for the #9 pick in the draft.

Philadelphia

5-7

As of today would be tied for the #9 pick in the draft.

We own Minnesota’s pick unprotected and get the lesser of Brooklyn/Philadelphia/Houston’s picks.

Updated. Minnesota lost tonight to Memphis and have lost 6 out of their last 7 games. Next three games for Minnesota:

@Cleveland
@Orlando
@Philadelphia

Here are some quotes from Minnesota fans:

We LITERALLY CANNOT "blow it up." We do not have our own picks. It would not help us. It would only help Utah. Any picks we would get in return would be low first-rounders from contenders. We have landed and burned the boats behind us. One way or another, we are gonna die on this beach.

I need you all to look at yourselves in the mirror, and repeat to yourself: "The Minnesota Timberwolves cannot blow it up and tank." The notion that we CAN is cope. We're stuck here, folks.

This team is broken. Connelly trading away all those picks and players (especially Bev) is turning out to be a horrendous move.

If you think it looks bad now, just wait until we're giving up premier picks in 2023, 2025, and 2027.

This franchise is so ****ed lol.

The front office deserves every iota of criticism they get.

They made a giant ****ing gamble on a “win-now” move that has the team losing more than winning. The fit everyone thought would be terrible is terrible, and the proposed fixes to rebounding and defense didn’t happen. This is the EXACT game Gobert was for and if anything they’re further from beating Memphis than they were last year despite JJJ being out with injury.

Holy ****, this is bad.

I thought we substituted Vando with Gobert to allow less O boards after Memphis series. They got 31 second chance points, +17 total rebounds, 15 O boards, and scored 62 points in the paint plus shot 27 free throws (most of them were on fouls in the paint). Rudy Gobert got 6 boards and got scored on a lot of times. It’s too early, but it seems like the trade was a huge mistake that will take years to recover.

Literally this team won’t be in MN by the time we have picks

Keep thinking about trading for Dejounte instead of Gobert

**** Tim Connelly. Guy completely ****ed this whole situation up. No reason to make that trade with DLo always going to be an expiring contract - sit tight and assess the situation before blowing the whole thing up.

Came in and blew all tradeable assets for Rudy who does nothing to fix the shortcomings on this team. Followed this team for 30+ years and he’s making a speed run for worst GM at this point, which says A LOT.

100%. This is what I have been saying. When did WE lose the leverage?? Utah was the one who needed to make a trade not us.

We can’t even talk about the basketball fit because they traded away all the guys who made the team go, now they just all clearly don’t like each other.

Im feeling sorry for TWolves fans. They have never even properly tasted success, and now this year when they were meant to get their first sip it looks more like they are doomed through 2030.
