2023 NBA Draft Megathread

The Warriors wings were Wiggins and Klay… the Celtics wings were Tatum and Brown… Steph was far and away the best player in the finals. Scoot may not shoot like Steph but he might be a better version of Ja… it’s early for Ja but he’s been great in the playoffs and there is room for a dynamic wing next to him. Ideally you get KD, Lebron, Kawhi… but if the dude isn’t available don’t try and make fetch happen.

Scoot is defintely more of a sure thing than the other dudes, but I dont think he will end up being the 2nd best player when it's all said and done.
If you have me Scoot or the field I’d take the field… but you give me one guess and I’d take Scoot confidently.

Terrance Shannon Jr might end up the Bane of this draft class.
Transfer portal kid playing well for Illinois. Might get lost in the shuffle since he's already a senior.
He's 6'-6" averaging 19.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.
He really stuck out to me as the best player on the floor when Illinois played UCLA 10 days ago or so.

Different players but I know what you mean and I agree.

yeah not sure early takes hold up with so many low on Whitehead due to late start. I have him top 6 and top 10 lock unless he can't play at a high level at all this season.

Nick Smith looks good, but I feel his release is too slow and it starts too low so it will be easy to block when he plays against better athletes.

I don't always drink the best beer, but when I do it always cost me more. You pick the best prospect not the best player imo.
Yeah that's what netted us DedEx.

Yeah that was why I said "closest" because people get stuck on the name and it invariably ends up with "there is no Durant in this draft", when instead I was looking for who might be "closest" of the potentials in the draft. It might still be really far away from the actual, but someone is probably closer than most of the others. Like you said, Wemby. Scoot does not fit the question as I am looking for a Durant prototype, and he doesn't fit the profile. He isn't a long wing.

The best 6'8"+ shooting wing is Brandon Miller.

The best 6'8"+ self-creating wing should be GG Jackson, but this is projecting a bit on a guy who still hasn't turned 18 yet.

We need to see what Whitmore looks like, there's a chance that Kris Murray is actually really good, and there's an outside chance that Baba Miller will explode as he matures.

So Givony hasn't gotten around to actually watching GG Jackson, I see. To put him next to Dereck Lively is simply malpractice. He's also too low on Anthony Black, imo. I like Cason Wallace, but I don't see how he could get drafted ahead of Black.

What bugs me is when people say tanking is stupid because you only have a 14% chance of getting Wemby. This draft is easily 9-12 people deep with good to great players. Wemby is the ultimate prize but there are tons of others that I would be very happy with if you miss out. I will be ecstatic if end up top 8. Now if we get two top ten picks, it is as close to a guarantee of getting a great player as you can get with this draft being so awesome.

My Ranked players right now:
1. Wemby
2. Scoot
3. Amen Thompson
4. GG Jackson
5. Anthony Black
6. Brandon Miller
7. Ausar Thompson
8. Nick Smith
9. Keyonte George
10. Cam Whitmore
11. Dariq Whitehead
12. Dillon Mitchell
13. Cason Wallace
14. Jarace Walker
15. Baba Miller
16. Kris Murray

Sorry HH, I am not a fan of the Dick like you.

Having Kris Murray above Gradey Dick is wild.
