and that's why whitmore should probably just sit out at this point. such a bummer as he was the guy i was most looking forward to, but it's probably in his best interest rather than going to play for the dumpster fire that is villanova.

Kris Murray is a 22 year old (will be 23 before the NBA season starts) eating in the NCAA. A year ago he was taking a back seat to his twin brother and looked like a fringe NBA prospect. I think he's a solid prospect for sure, so I'm not really trying to knock him because I do like him in the 20's (you know, depending on who declares/stays). I just can't justify having a 23 year old in the teens of a class this loaded with young talent. I cant even justify having him over Terrence Shannon Jr, a similarly aged prospect with better NBA athleticism.

To say Gradey DIck's are a dime a dozen is wild. He's a 6'7/6'8 wing who is an elite shooter at 19 years old. At age 20 Kris Murray was averaging 0.6 points per game for Iowa.

yeah not sure early takes hold up with so many low on Whitehead due to late start. I have him top 6 and top 10 lock unless he can't play at a high level at all this season.
it's not looking good for him. he hasn't improved at all since coming back from injury, Scheyer isn't running plays for him at all and he barely even played in the second half of a close game last night.

Honestly if you are a projected top 5 pick you should probably just sit if you want to be completely safe about securing the bag. I do think there is value in playing though, but that's hard to really prove when you got Shaedon Sharpe balling out.

Well, time will only tell. I will eat crow if you are right.

yup. the success sharpe has had both as a rookie and in terms of where he was drafted makes it easy for a guy like whitmore or smith to just go ahead and sit after missing a chunk of the season due to injury. hell, whitehead should think about just calling it good and preparing for the league if Scheyer isn't going to feature him at all.

Man, I just did some googling and Jordan Walsh has a 7'3 wingspan. If he declares this year he could be an under the radar guy you might be able to get in the 20's. Could be an elite 3&D type.

And you are certainly allowed to change your opinion. No one is going to hold you to draft takes made in December.

I just have a ceiling for how high I'm going to put Murray given his age and the precedent for guys who have his development path in college.

I will say that I have really appreciated your videos and posts of fringe players this year. i will check him out.

that is hard for me to believe. but yeah, based on early returns he should be available in the 20s. i liked him quite a bit coming out of HS, but he's had some trouble early on at this level. really having trouble getting and making shots.

He's not really fringe, he's a highly rated freshman (top 15 I believe). He just doesnt have the play style that lends itself to big numbers and he plays on a loaded team.

What bugs me is when people say tanking is stupid because you only have a 14% chance of getting Wemby. This draft is easily 9-12 people deep with good to great players. Wemby is the ultimate prize but there are tons of others that I would be very happy with if you miss out. I will be ecstatic if end up top 8. Now if we get two top ten picks, it is as close to a guarantee of getting a great player as you can get with this draft being so awesome.

My Ranked players right now:
1. Wemby
2. Scoot
3. Amen Thompson
4. GG Jackson
5. Anthony Black
6. Brandon Miller
7. Ausar Thompson
8. Nick Smith
9. Keyonte George
10. Cam Whitmore
11. Dariq Whitehead
12. Dillon Mitchell
13. Cason Wallace
14. Jarace Walker
15. Baba Miller
16. Kris Murray

Sorry HH, I am not a fan of the Dick like you.
Dick ain’t for everyone… I respect it.

They look extremely long, AK like.

I like everything I hear about him. He’s a good defender and not just a guy with good defensive tools. The shot needs to come around but I’d love to get him with the Philly pick.

Yeah that's what netted us DedEx.
I mean if you have atop 5 pick, the best prospect probably IS the best player in the that case, usually unless they reach on intangibles only.
The take here from me, is many teams draft high floor player, as the lottery starts to come to an end instead of risky higher upside lower floor. I still think the majority of the Jazz picks this year will all be late teens. they can get a high floor type with the last 1st and use the other two on high developmental prospects.

its pretty soon coming off that injury to look good though. He has the tools NBA execs will covet regardless if he gets bypassed by better college performers or g-league allstars in these rankings.
I am not that high on him, just think the early returns are off by quite a bit for where he will go when it is all over.
