Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I outlined a Clippers and Heat deal in the trade machine thread a couple of days ago.

KO + Gay for Robinson + 2027 unprotected 1st

Conley for Kennard + Jackson

I’d do both of those without any hesitation.
I’d hope to get some draft stuff from LA.

At least a swap with the 76ers/Nets pick. Even if it only moves up a few spots, that could be a big deal in this draft.
that's actually not bad... I forgot they actually had a pick this year. Wild.

Back to John Collins... His reps were given the green light to go out and kick the tires on a deal themselves. That is like where Ben Simmons was for a while... that's them saying "no one wants to give us anything good... don't believe us go out and find out for yourselves!!!"

If Ainge does it there will be draft capital coming back.

Not a trade rumor, but if the Jazz open up a roster space or a 2-way slot from a trade/cut, they should look at adding Jeenathon Williams on. Having a really good year with the Stars. Played on teh SL team and looked OK. Has a 7' wingspan and shoots 41% from 3 on 6 attempts per game.

If the jazz are smart they lock him into a 2 way contract right now. I don't see any point in having Juzang on a 2 way contract. I just don't think the guy is an nba player while Williams definitely has the potential to be a solid 3 and d guy.

Nah. In the end, teams are gonna decide to trade or not trade for Vando based on how much THEY value him. They don't care about "showcasing" or GM posturing. Sure you can set an inflated asking price for a guy, but if nobody bites, you're stuck with a dude who you don't see as part of your future anyway. That's bad decision making.

Teams can read advanced stats. And in Vando's case, they're not pretty

You don’t think teams are interested in what a player’s coaches think about his value? The people who watch him every day? Come on, be serious

On ESPN 700 Andy Larsen said he thinks Beasley and Vanderbilt are probably the most likely guys to be dealt before the deadline.

I love Vando but I also get it. I would probably be ok with it depending on the return. Much much rather trade KO than vando though.

I decided I don't want Collins. I want some great draft stuff if they go that route. I'd love to get Taylor Hendricks in the draft and have him be part of the frontcourt of the future. Find a vet place holder if we must. Walker needs to be the roll man and JC makes too much just to be a 3rd big.

We are definitely trading for Collins.

It's possible Collins may only be the 4th or 5th best player on this roster. Just doesn't seem smart to be paying him $25mil per season for the next 3-4 years.
It's not my money though.

Collins could turn out to be another player with a Markkanen like resurgence. Uber athletic with versatility. I wouldn't doubt for a second he could turn things around here in a new system that's more team oriented.
I just feel like people haven't actually watched him. He can't really handle the ball all that much. His shooting has dipped to Rudy Gay levels. His defense is pretty solid but it isn't like he has the length that Lauri does. He isn't transcendent on that end.

Trying to re-create the Lauri trade is nice... but there is a great chance it isn't something that really gets duplicated.
