Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Can someone explain to me why I keep hearing folks say that Sexton is not available because he is integral to our future? Am I the only one who is not convinced? Laurie and Walker for sure and probably Ochai at this point are on my protected list. If we end up keeping Sexton that is fine but it wouldn't bother me a bit for him to get traded. I am a long way from being convinced that he is our PG of the future. What am I missing?
I definitely don't think he's the PG of the future but I wouldn't trade him either. IMO he's exactly the type of bench scorer every team needs. Not all building blocks have to be starters.

The trouble is that I don't think Sexton himself will ever really accept a bench role. He might not have a choice in the long run, though. I can't see any team starting him at this point.

I like Kennard, I think he/Wall for Conley is perfectly reasonable if Conley wants to go there. Throwing in some 2nds makes it even easier.

Thoughts (if assuming accuracy of the tweets)?

All seems pretty fair, I agree that Lowry/Rozier can both probably be gotten without a 1st. Heat definitely don't want to get worse this season, but with Kennard/Jackson/etc coming back I could see them think that is comparable enough to get off of Lowry's 30 million fully guaranteed money next season.

I don't think Conley gets better value than Wall/Kennard/one 2nd, but I agree its probably not worth it. If we are making a bunch of trades to sink then I might do it, but if we are stuck as a .500 quality team with play-in potential then I will ride out the further Conley-aided development of Lauri/Kessler.

Unless we move Beasley for a first... I really don't have a huge need for Kennard. If we move Mike it will be for a legit first imo or because he wants to leave. I don't think he wants to leave.

The clips deal is awful unless you get a first. The least I would do a deal for is Conley for Kennard/RJ and the right to swap the Philly pick with the Clips pick this year and I'd get the right to swap picks in 27 with any pick we own (this might have to have like top 4 protection).

I think Mike is kinda important for development... besides being good... I just think if we move him we will be surprised at how good the return is.

I think this deadline will end up fairly quiet for us given the possibilities.

Wall has a second year on his deal. I suspect most teams aren't going to let him be inserted into a deal without more compensation.

Who is saying that? I think just about anyone would be fine with dealing him if it was a good trade for us.

Sarah Todd had a trade deadline preview article a few days ago and she put Sexton in the untouchable category along with Markkanen and Kessler. He may not be as likely to be traded as some of the other guys on the roster, but to call him untouchable is completely ridiculous. I'm positive Ainge and company would be willing to part with him for the right offer.

Yep. I guess it is. Still don't want him.
I didn't know that... it does change things a bit for me. I don't want him to come here, but you just waive him and its not a big deal.
