2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Here's GG from last night. Looks like he can finish with either hand. That Florida dude, no. 33, lists at 300 lbs, btw.

Jarace, GG and Hendricks could become an interesting debate. With Hendricks, the question is what he can do off the dribble. Can he create for himself? Can he get by his defender? Can he pass on the move?

he's old, but TJD has been absolutely killing it. winning games as "by himself" as you can get. 25 and 21 in a 4 point win last night over minnesota. i think you take him in the late first. has his warts as an nba prospect, but guys who are that productive tend to figure out a way to make rotations and play well in the nba. the athleticism and motor will translate.

who?

i was impressed GG in that game too. pretty inefficient, but he looked so damn skilled. as far as miller, even when he's a non-factor and had a mediocre game he's pretty good. 5-9 FGs, 13 pts, 6 rebs, 2 asts, 3 steals. and literally every oad prospect not named zion had games like that where either they didn't do much or they were just plain bad.
Totally agree. Thats my thoughts on Black too. He's had a couple bad games but even in his "eh" games you see that talent. If they were only great games and pure domination they arent being talked about at 6-12 range anyway.

That sequence at the 1:15 mark is what prompted me to make that post on him finally. So much in that one sequence: defensive awareness, not getting tunnel vision/unselfishness, athleticism. Really impressed.

To be clear, you think those are only questions with Hendricks and not Walker? I have all those same worries with Walker more so than with Tay.

Walker has solid feel off the dribble. He can get by people using hesitations and a bit of change-of-direction. He's a good passer. He can probably play some point-forward if he wants to. He's got a bit of Draymond to his game.

This is from the McDonald's All American game a year or so ago. He's a bit loose here, but you get the idea of what he's like in an up-and-down kind of game.

We can agree to disagree here. That video didnt show me a lot of what you are talking about IMO but thats fine.

Honestly i am just not high on Walker right now. I think he's more "clunky" than people are seeing or talking about. He looks like he's not expecting any of his outside shots to go in when he shoots it and he does a lot of his damage from the post but no team is running those for him in the NBA.

He also HAS to rebound in the NBA at his size and he is an up and down dude there. 6 times this year he has 4 or less rebounds.......in college.

He is now certain to be unreal now that I am ******** on him but im not a believer at all right now. I would have taken him over GG 6 weeks ago but not anymore.

Can someone enlighten me on the knocks against Hawkins?

Why is he projected as a late lottery guy? Dudes lethal from 3 on volume, is a dawg on defense and has good size for the position. He's not the best creator but that's also not his role. Also rebounds well relative to his position.

What am I missing?
i think the fact he's so thin and not an elite athlete for a wing, which leads to concerns about his defense, (though i do think he's a plus athlete), and then you said it - the concerns about his creating, ballhandling, playmaking. but man, probably my favorite prospect in the country to watch.

that jumper is so pure.

and he's not a frosh. fair or not, second year and beyond guys just have a lot of ground to make up as it relates to the draft.

He just looks more like a 4/5 to me and I'm not a believer in the shot just yet. Hendricks is more the 3/4 type and the shot just looks really good. I think he could be like Jaden McDaniels on defense and Jerami Grant on offense.

I'm good with either guy and Walker could have some Bam/Green to him. I just think Hendricks may be the easier guy to fit even if he isn't quite as good of a player.

I think you got it flipped.

Hendricks is more of the 4/5 an Walker is more the 3/4.

Damn. Dude looks like Steph out there.

That was my first look at him (the highlight that Cy posted) and reggie miller popped into my mind at the beginning of the video. Then as the video continued and he started creating his own shot and driving I started to see steph if I squinted really hard.
