2023 NBA Draft Megathread

But…..like a poor shooting Donovan with defense from last years playoffs as his ceiling?

I think his comp is actually close to Donovan. But again, if he's the 2nd option and not the first, it can work. If he tries to save the world with his heroball, then his team is going to have a ceiling.

Jarace Walker showing he is more than he has been able to show. Looking like a star with his midrange

Kawhi Leonard has just a few spots on the floor that he's trying to get to, where he's almost impossible to stop--e.g., foul line jumper, 3pt from the top of the circle, etc. But very few people in the league can stop him from getting to those spots. Walker could be similar. His touch on floaters and in the mid-range could be bankable. He just needs to be able to get to his spots.

Agree that’s why I mention it, reminds me a lot of Donovan.

Better athlete, much worse shooter. Same kind of defender.

I watched a lot of Maxwell Lewis today.

Kid has so much talent. Came away super high on him, his ability to score, create and defend.

Baffled why his team is so terrible and how he turns the ball over so much though.

He’s climbing for me though.

I picture him looking like an old fat dave chapelle
It wasn’t like Bruss fat where you are like “damn bro you okay”. It was like “that guy used to be a defensive end and he’s let himself go”.

Just one of those guys you haven’t seen or thought about in forever and it catches you off guard.

I'm trying to guess what he's going to look like against NBA defenses. Is he going to be able to get separation at the next level? I'm not sure.

Keyonte George will be even better in the NBA. Dude is REALLY good.
I like how he moves and I can see it… Walsh ate him up a couple times… he just takes some hard shots. I think he has to be much more of a point guard if he’s gonna be an all star level guy. If you got him after 10 or so I think it’s good value.

I know Blacks stay line was pretty empty but the guy just plays to help his team win. It has an Ingles vibe… need him to score a few points and move the ball then cool… need him to look for his own shot and he will do it more. I might have him too high but he’s the type of player and kid I’d bet on and be fine with it.

He hits some really tough shots man. That’s honestly one of the things I’m most impressed about which I really think translates.

He has really great open court vision too and drives and kicks well. A lot of his skill set really translates to the NBA level, IMO.

Hard to know on maxwell lewis. Romar is a good guy and good recruiter from what I know but always seems to underperform coaching the talent. He has sent a lot of players to the nba. Most players I’d consider win loss and team success as a factor for drafting. Not so sure with his scenario.

I think George is a solid top 10 guy.

Black looked pretty rough today man. Still like him and he defended well in spots but he’s gotta start being more of an impact consistently.

Nah I think he could look for his shot more obvi but just thought he was moving the ball in part to try and beat the zone.

I want wings and big guards out if this draft - take a home run swing or two and hope that one develops into either a Batman or Robin to run with Markkanen long term.

I'm hoping the Jazz can come away with a high-level guard--Scoot, a Thompson, NSJ, George...maybe Anthony Black (though I'm not sold)--and a versatile forward, either GG Jackson or Jarace Walker. It's possible that Hendricks could substitute for Jackson/Wallace.

If that's not possible, I'd take a swing on an interesting offensive player like Howard or Sensabaugh, maybe Dick.

I’d add Cason in that guard mix personally.

He might be in my top 5. The defense is real and I just feel he's waiting to explode on the skill front
