Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

After seeing how the trade deadline went I’m not so upset about the trade. Facts… we saved a **** ton of $ and helped the tank. I’m finding myself excited again for the draft and in anticipation for the draft lottery.

EH has to carry water hard for the Jazz. We can see nuance and have a layer of opinions on something.

Like when all the rumors were about RJ Barrett, he was apparently the best thing since sliced bread. Then the moment we didnt get RJ, he was off that beat. I get why some fans like to act like that but it's not my thing.
 
The trade deadline kind of sucked for the Jazz.

We did a half-measure tank move for a decent asset but we gave up a ton while the Lakers barely gave up anything to dramatically improve their roster.

I doubt there was much to be had, so I'm not mad or anything. I'm not upset, it's just anti-climatic (most deadlines are).

This was supposed to be a seller's market but somehow the buyers walked away like rooters in a riot.

The lakers got better but not really better in a way that seems likely to matter. Deadline losers to me are NOP and Memphis, and maybe Lakers too honestly? They made a move that commits an asset and doesn't make them better enough.
 
I was hopeful we would make another trade today and am a little disappointed the jazz couldn't get an asset in a young player or something exciting- I'm not excited about cap room, I'm doubtful it will be useful for anything other than potential trades for bad salary. It is smart to bottom out the rest of the year so I get it, and I am selfishly glad we got to have a pretty exciting team for most of this year. I'm really hopeful the jazz can get something from the scrap heap. I hope they keep a roster spot or two spinning until they find a hidden treasure.

I think its funny that when folks disagree they are "carrying DA's water". Not really... sometimes we just call em like we see em. I thought the KO and THT trades were awful... I'm okay making trades where you don't get 100% of the value you feel you deserve... they just have to make sense. If they don't make sense and you didn't get enough then I complain.

We are very clearly going to tank... we clearly wanted to open up all the possibilities that come with that strategy. We executed the best trade on the board that allows us to do that. There were no other deals that were better than what we got... yet we got mfers in here saying its undoes the Rudy trade... come on... do better.

I would have liked more value but its in the worth it window for me... I agree with a full tilt in the direction we should go... and we absolutely did that. The real payoff for this trade comes in the summer.
 
Don't Andy and/or Tony typically send out a tweet stating the trade deadline is officially over for the Jazz? Neither has done that yet, correct? Just holding out hope that the FO is still on a call finalizing something...

The also got addition by subtraction... I just think it will raise them to a play in team and the KD deal will mute any optimism they have.

You're a weird dude with your metaphors. Apparently, carrying water, riding dick, getting off your dick, slurping dick is important to your vernacular. Seems like there is a theme there. I must be out of the lingo of the current youths. Strange times.

Exactly. We were both talking about how bad both of those trades were as soon as they happened. Turns out they both were really ****ing bad. Guess we don’t carry DA’s water on every deal and just judge each deal on their own. What a concept.

I agree that they'll be quite a bit better, but I'd be pretty surprised if this moved them beyond the "in the playoffs" tier and into the "real contender" tier.
