2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Let's not start moving the goalposts here. Wemby is supposed to be one of the best prospects ever, if not THE best. Instant franchise changer, instant star, true generational talent. Normal rules do not apply to him. After all, this is what we've been told all season. I mean... if he's just another very tall kid who doesn't really have an NBA position and who may one day become a respectable outside shooter... what are we even doing? Feels like I'm taking crazy pills.

30% from the perimeter sucks. Particularly in Europe. The shot itself is shorter, defenders closing you out are slower and smaller and less aggressive. When you add the fact that at 7'5'', pretty much every shot by Wemby is wide open... yikes.

In the NBA, nobody's bothering to guard him on the perimeter if he's shootinfg 30%.
Yall got to crown this dude the new board contrarian. I have nothing on him.

30% is not that bad. Especially for a 7’5” 19 year old.
So people don’t really talk about this much but the longer your arms are, the more unwieldy they are with fine motor function. The fact that Kevin Durant shoots like he does is a marvel, and the fact that Wemby is as good as he is as young as he is very promising. He also doesn’t just shoot spot-up/standstill shots, he is doing advanced stuff.

Everything is fixed if they just do the Conley, Vando, etc. deal before the year even starts. Lauri, Kessler, Ochai, led wins are much easier to swallow. It’s that dumb *** hot streak we had to start the season that is the problem. Those games should have been young inexperienced guys cutting their teeth in the league. We could have started 3-15 or something. We’d have top 5 odds locked up. And watching those guys grow and get better and be competitive at this point in the season would have just been fun.
I agree that playing the young guys should have been the plan all along but we would still be too good.
Lauri has been even better after the Conley trade. Kessler too. I think Ochai was ready to go from day one but Hardy just didn't trust him.
I think if we start the season playing Sexton, Ochai, Clarkson, Kessler, KO, and Lauri the most minutes then we would still be too good.

On one hand it's great to see Cason do well, but on the other hand you hope his stock doesn’t rise too much out of our draft range. I wish Kentucky could have pulled out the win so I could see him play more.

What happened to coach Cal? It seems like just yesterday he was coaching an entire starting lineup of lotto picks. Guys like Booker, Davis, Cousins, etc Now? He’s coaching one stud guard, a poor man’s Drez, and a bunch of forgettable college players.
