We could try to sign Jordan Clarkson to another 4-year deal or decide to roll with Collin Sexton as our 6th Man. Alternatively, they could both co-exist on the team over the next 3-4 tears. Projecting ahead, what is the way forward? If we find a starting point guard of the future in the 2023 draft how does that change your planning?

My first instinct was Sexton.

We've had a good run with Clarkson, but I'm not sold we need them both, there is a lot of overlap, and if he wants a chance to compete in the near future it's probably not here.

I think it will likely be Sexton. I know Ryan Smith loves him some JC, but I kind of have a feeling we're going to either sign and trade him or let him walk in the offseason.

Evidently, JC is as + as he is -. And he’s 30 and not getting younger.

I’m good.

Sexton is really efficient, fast as hell, and, what, 24? Sounds good to me.

I’m good trading (or signing and trading) either of them if it makes sense. Like maybe to somehow move up in the draft somewhere.

I go back and forth with JC. Was looking at some lineup info JC/THT/KO/Lauri/Walker is +18.8 - sub in Ochai for JC and its +14.4. JC and Sexton together works fine for the most part. Lauri and Walker are obviously big parts of those lineups being successful. I'm just not sure if you run with Dunn/THT/Rookie pg with Ochai that the group has enough creative juice.

If it is 16-18M per year I have a hard time seeing us do much better at that number. Not sure what we can swing in a sign and trade. Maybe the best chance to preserve the asset is to keep him and move one of Sexton or JC next year... I doubt his FA market goes bonkers.

I voted for Sexton. If his durability wasnt a questionmark it would be a gimmie.

But even with the injury concerns, JC likely wants a starting role and I'm not sure he'd be happy going back to 6th man.

Now if someone told me JC was settling for Sextons salary and would be a happy camper as a 6th that could tilt it.

I vote for other. Because i think JC will leave as he want to go to a contender team and may have opportunities. And for Sexton, i still believe he can be a good starter, if you put with him a star PG,
A starter 5 Dame-Sexton- Kessler-KO-Lauri will be really good ( i know im dreaming...)
