Since the infamous Lebron James meltdown against Boston when they missed a call... the league apologized... and since then the Lakers ft disparity is +263

Is that good you might ask... well its #1 in the league over that time... #2 is Miami with 123 (serial foul hunter Jimmy Butler) and number 3 is the Sixers with 104 (Joel and Harden)

I wonder how much of that was Lebron James being awesome... oh ****... he missed 17 of those games. So yeah next time you mock your friend with the tinfoil hat... remember how egregious this obviously is and how it would require some level of coordination to get this good of a whistle over this sample. They more than doubled the next closest team... cover your *** a little better NBA.

Remember when the Jazz and the Lakers were in a tight playoff race in the 2013 season? Suddenly the Jazz couldn't get to the FT line, while the league drowned the Lakers in FT's. The most egregious example:

4/7/2013: Utah @ Golden State

Utah's first free throw attempt came with 4:41 left in the third quarter. They finished with only 7 total FT's for the game.

4/12/2013: Golden State @ LA Lakers

The Lakers got 50 (!!!) freethrow attempts this game. They needed all of them to eek out a very narrow 2 point win. (The Warriors got just 16 FT's).

Officiating is god awful, and they clearly are influenced by 'being human'. But the league itself actually potting and changing outcomes is something I'll never come around on.
I don't know... a 2 month stint where they get 10.5 more free throws than their opponent is WILD!

If our last game of the season @ Lakers is to determine whether or not the Lakers get into the play-ins, the league will bring in WWE refs.

I mean follow that to its conclusion. Are you saying the league and officials colluded and said we need to blatantly help the Lakers and make better calls for them than opponents? If you believe such a thing could happen or does happen, why would you even care about the sport anymore?

It's not hard for me to imagine the refs being embarrassed by that missed call, and having an inherent bias for Laker games since that happened. Outright collusion and fixing games though? Nah.

I'm not saying the met in a room with hoods and cloaks... but I think its more than sympathy... it would have to be more than embarrassment over one call lol... that happened months ago. Its more likely a strong desire to have the Lakers in the postseason.

I'm not sure how it happened but refs are given evaluations and such... it would be fairly easy to communicate some bias in those reviews without saying directly "make sure the Lakers win". It can be massaged through ref assignments and such.

I mean we just watched the NBA overturn a technical foul so Luka would not be suspended. They did that out in the open.

More than 2x the next closest disparity over a fairly large sample is wild.

I heard they bringing in celebrities for that game... Magic, Flea and Jack Nicholson will be reffing that one.

When I opened the link you posted I thought my computer was going to get an STD. I fact checked the data and this is what I found:

It seems extreme, but the Lakers are one of the higher FTA teams and lower OPP FTA teams throughout the year as well. I don't know, I could go either way on this, but the tinfoil hat way does seems more fun...

There’s no doubt in my mind the nba is heavily laced with true conspiracy’s. And I’m 100% sure the jazz are winning the lottery or at least jumping into the top 3. Mark my words.

Let’s hope so!!

Just for comparison I looked at the old Rockets teams over a year when they were peak foul baiting... best month they had was like a +7 but usually like 5 FT differential... +11 and +10 over two months is BONKERS. AD draws a lot of fouls but come on.

Of course the league favors Lakers. It also has Lebron. There is almost 0 chance Lakers is not in the play-ins. If Lakers need 50 ft's in those games against us - Lakers will get them. NBA is half scam and half sports.

This is why I wish people would just stfu about the refs. Everyone gets screwed by the refs, they whine like crazy, the refs compensate (no guarantee which direction), and then more people get screwed, then more complaining, and the circle of suck continues.

The NBA refs have fragile egos and double down....NBA players and coaches constantly think the world is against them and complain no matter what. Hate it. Bad actors on all sides.

The Luka tech being rescinded is a bigger NBA conspiracy
As evidenced in the OP's link, Luka get a TON of calls in his favor, so his little gesture has 2 thoughts in my mind.

1. If anyone knows about refs doing "favors" it would be him

2. Generally speaking his little gesture will go one of two ways, the way of the LAL getting more calls or getting no calls. Just look at Gobert when he complained and the next game against HOU @Utah, foul on the opening tip and then T'd up and ejected.

You brought back my PTSD from the DWIll, Boozer and Okur playoffs against the LAL, people have posted YouTube videos of the fouls called against Utah and the no calls down the stretch of the 4th Qtr but I'm working and too lazy to look for it.

Have you ever played an ouija board with friends? Nobody consciously came together to decide what it would say, but the game manifests the collective desire of its participants.
