Also, while I like the reasoning behind a games threshold for All-NBA and end season rewards, it's going to be ridiculous when some of the players win it over others and there difference is games played is 66 vs 63. Doubly ridiculous when it impacts super max stuff.

Yes it shouldn't be a line in the sand, but it could be part of the calculations along with votes on a sliding scale. So those 2 in that hypothetical would still be pretty close but would take a slam compared to someone who played 80.

I like that teams way over the cap can’t use the taxpayer MLE anymore. That means Ingles couldn’t have signed with the Bucks and DiVincenzo with the Warriors if this was in place this year.
Would it have prevented the Jazz from signing Rudy Gay?

I agree but remember there are also the B2B resters who boost their averages by never playing games when tired.

I think 65 games is a bit too high though. 60 would be better.

I am glad the NBA is taking measures to try to make the regular season more compelling. It's not exactly what I wanted and it might not work, but letting the regular season die without any intervention was a problem. It's good that they recognize it as a problem and I'm hoping the mid season tournament will have a similar effect as the play in game. So much whining about the play in tournament when it was first implemented, but I don't really see anyone complaining about it now. The NBA cannot be resistant to change.

I just wish they went to 2 games a week, occasionally 3. Make each game feel more eventful.
