Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

Wildly enough the Minnesota pick could end up tied for 12th if OKC won two play-in games and tied for 11th if OKC and Chicago both won two play-in games. Unlikely of course but hey there is a chance.
Play in games don’t count toward the final record that the draft order is set from. Only regular season games. Best the Jazz can get out of the Wolves pick is 13.

That’s just not true. You’re telling me OKC could make the playoffs as the 8 seed and their pick would still be at 12?

They don't count toward the record, but OKC and CHI could remove themselves from the lottery by making the actual playoffs. If this happens (alongside the outcomes in Anderson's tweet) the wolves would be tied for 11th with the Raptors.

Are the other teams going on record to say their tanking? Will the other teams have to give up their draft pick if they don't tank? Hard to say a team is tanking vs injury management if they don't explicitly say they are tanking. I think it would be funny if the NBA awarded the Knicks their pick. Even better, since the Jazz did the NBA a big favor by making the Lakers better with a sweetheart trade, if their Wolves pick ends up in the lottery, they magically draw that ball into the top 3, effectively bumping the Mavs pick out of the top 10.
lol smells like a karm attic - it's top 4 not 3 now btw.
when the coach throws his front office under the buss it may seem like proof of something different from many other teams have done all season, it isn't.
I mean I don't know how many times teams focussed on the Wemby stakes, that could have won a gameor at minimum a lot more than they did, rested key players in the name of manufactured injuries.
The league probably does not like the attention to the problem this puts on them for casual observers of the NBA. So, I guess they may have to have some sort of noteworthy penalty that puts Cuban on a fallguy poster. But I still doubt it includes the outright loss of the lottery pick. If anything the league will just make sure some team 11-14 leaps up there in the top 4 and pushes that 10 spot to 11 and gifts the pick to the Dolans or maybe not lol

Both Atlanta and Toronto have finished with a 41-41 record. If the Twolves lose today, they'll finish 41-41 as well. So then if the Twolves lose in the play-in tourney, along with Atlanta and/or Toronto, there would be a 2 or 3-way tie outside the playoffs. This would result in those teams being separated by a coin flip and their lottery odds shared evenly. In other words, if the Twolves lose during the play-in, there's a chance that Utah's pick could end up as high as #12.

We would want Minnesota, Toronto and Atlanta to all miss the playoffs.

Really think the WOlves/Hawks are going to do a deal with Gobert. Minnesota just going to bite the bullet. The chemistry issues are just too real with Gobert.
And that would simultaneously be the best and worst thing for both Rudy and Quin.
