I want nothing, and I mean nothing, to do with Luka. Black hole who is all about Luka. I'd rather take a chance in the draft. Did I say I want nothing to do with Luka?
Luka is much more liked by his peers than most NBA superstars. I mean he isnt Durant level popular but Durant has some more mileage and thus fandom.

The image of him being selfish baby comes from his on court antics that anyone who has watched enough soccer has developed a tolerance for.

That being said, he is far from perfect as he is a defensive liability just like Trae.

Based on? And do you mean liked or respected? He definitely isn't liked all that much as other NBA super stars.

He has been called that by many. OG went as far as calling him one of the nicest guys in the league. He also got 21 more player votes than any guard in the entire NBA. Its very much a popularity affected vote.. which is why KD beat Tatum and Embiid.

We’re entering the part of the year where people stretch their beliefs or pretend they believe something for the sake of conversation, but there is no debate whatsoever as to who is better out of Luka and Trae. Literally a head and shoulders difference here.

Yep
**** trae. Couldnt pay me to take him on the jazz.

Luka on the other hand although he is annoying and has a few warts he could end of being one of the best players of all time. Like when he is done playing there could be a list that goes:

1. Jordan
2. Lebron
3. Luka

That is how good he has been statistically. If he is available then the jazz should be looking at what it takes to acquire him.

For reference Trae got 13 total votes from his peers. Luka got 149. 2nd best guard in West (Curry) had 118 player votes.
And maybe a popularity contest isn’t the best indicator as to which players are better than others, but it does absolutely reflect the likelihood that players within a given locker room like, respect, or even just get along with the player in question which does matter a lot.

Oh, and Trae still can’t guard anybody and cannot be hidden either. Good luck to whoever wants to be running box and one defenses in the regular season so that little ****er can sew discord and embarrassingly flop the whole game. What a treat that must be.

AD-level package: 4 picks, 3 swaps, and young player(s) (Lauri?). Admittedly, Luka on this team would be fun, but we'd be giving up way too much to be in a similar situation as the Mavs in terms of roster construction.
Probably Kessler and one of sexton or Agbaji or possibly both. No way they could get Lauri though.

The Jazz would also be car-shopping without needing one. In other words, they wouldn’t have the Jazz bent over. The Jazz aren’t trading everything they’ve already built for Luka, and they’d probably want a pick/young player centered package anyway.

The reason why Luka scores a lot or as someone say is a black hole is because he has to score 40 pts for the Mavs to have a chance to win. I would love having Luka on the Jazz as long as we don't give away all our young guys and picks. There is no way to do it. So I would rather take the chance in the draft and then make a significant trade or FA signing.

I completely get this sentiment. However, he is such a huge talent. If we could get him with the assets we have and hold onto our key players, a core of Luka, Lauri and Kessler is pretty damn strong, there is no doubt. You would have to at least consider the options there.
I think that we'd have to give up too much to get him. I don't want to go all in on someone who I perceive needs more that 20+ shots every night to get his and is absolutely selfish. I know I'm in the minority when I say that, but the price for Luka would be too high based on the ROI IMO. I just don't see him being a key cog on any championship. Just my opinion...

We're not talking about soccer, this is basketball. His antics on the court are just infantile. His complaining is so over the top that it overshadows what talent he does have...

Its a cultural thing that has little to do with the type of team sport played. I play floorball in a casual workplace team with one italian-born guy and he acts the exact same way trying to win every call, but is still a great guy.

Just because most slovenian people do that stuff doesnt make them a nation of a-holes.

I'm not saying he's an a-hole, I'm saying that his antics do not help his cause, nor his play. Regardless of where he's from, he needs to realize that and accommodate.
And regardless, he's still a black hole...

I dont know if they help or not but they dont make him a worse player. He still is a 30/9/8 guy. Aslo while I understand the black hole concerns.. I'd like to point out that JC is worse as a black hole (not only passes less, assists less but also scores with lower efficiency). Yes, JC passes less. In fact both are -12 on passes made vs passes received but JC's percentage is much worse since Luka touches the ball way more.

They dont have a system like we do in Dallas, so its hard to say how he would adapt to Hardy's style but at the very least he is a GIGANTIC upgrade over JC.
