Joel Embiid’s Potential Trade Request

I think Embiid has hit his peak , how much more help does he want ? When does the process end ? 15pts in a game 7 , you’re the MVP , come on , game 6 was his to win , and he didn’t take over in the 4th /Q

I prefer to go down the DA path , let’s see what pick we get , what trades we do and what FA we sign in the off-season

I love what we have done in such a short period of time

Fine I‘ll play along. Kessler, the top 4 protected Laker pick, an unprotected Jazz first around 2026 or 2027 whichever is the soonest we can due to the OKC deal, and the top 5 protected Wolves pick in 2029, plus they take Rudy Gay.

Embiid is awesome… I could also see his body totally quitting on him. Just can’t seem to be fully healthy in or through the playoffs. Not sure he comes available just yet. Not sure why he’d request a trade right now and also be happy coming to Utah… I know Lauri and Embiid would be a great combo but I can’t see him preferring Utah over Philly since they’d still have Maxey, Harris, Melton even if Harden bolts.

This is a scary proposition and throwing picks and Kessler at a trade for Joel would need to pay off in the next year or two… just not sure we are ready for that kind of super short window.

Maxey/Harris/Melton is better than Sexton/Clarkson/Markkanen? Plus all of the other picks we have we could use.

The best point you made is it does push us into a super short 3 year window.

Which is less valuable than Kessler.

Sexton/Dunn/THT
Ochai/THT/JC
Draft or Move picks or play Lauri here
Lauri/KO
Embiid/Kessler

That's a stacked roster. We would still have plenty of capital to find a proper SF/PF
That’s less valuable than an even more stacked roster and picks. Having Embiid makes Kessler irrelevant as far as I’m concerned, now being this up no more. It’s not worth my time.

Where is the process at now ? Has it ended ?

Him and harden combine for 8/29 , and he says he needs more help from his teammates , ok

Ok... Not sure how we get a better player than Kessler with that extra pick but it's not a big deal really as this trade is not going to happen. You want to give away an already proven stacked commodity for a potential one that just might hit. I'm not sure where you think the other stacked roster parts are coming from. Kessler is basically a top 5 pick thus far and the chances of hitting someone of his caliber are extremely low. Especially when those picks are going to be in the 20+ range for the next few years with Cleveland and Minnesota being decent teams... not to mention us with Embiid would be a high 20.

Outside of trading those picks chances of hitting a more stacked player than Walker are very slim. I'll take walker over 2 picks in the high 20's any day.

Harden could team up with Victor and thats something to look forward too. i would also prefer Luka over Embiid. playmaker over scoring bigs anytime

It’s not better but does Joel think or know that… cuz Maxey he’s been around a while Harris too… it would have to be such an obvious upgrade like Dame or someone like that. I think a move like Joel is something that comes after we make a move to add another piece first. May they have simultaneous deals like when Ainge got Ray Allen then KG… but it might look like a lateral move until they make the follow up deal.

I think if you trade for Joel you better have another deal done first or lined up and on the one yard line cuz once you get Joel your timeline is NOW.

I don’t think Harden sticks around unless they offer a bigger bag than Houston. The Houston smoke seems real on both sides… I just don’t think Harden is necessarily a championship or bust guy (which honestly is fine) and I think he goes where he gets paid and feels he will be most comfortable. Morey in a tight spot.

Dame and Embiid simultaneously lol.

So then we can rent him for a few years and watch him either disappear in the playoffs or get hurt? No thanks.

This whole sell the farm for a star thing might not work anymore with the nba skill and speed. I’m open to being wrong about this. But it seems like the NBA has reached a tipping pt now with speed and shooting. Might be more valuable to keep your depth so you can run the entire game rather than watch your 1-2 stars slowly run out of gas. (Like Phx)

I don’t think you should sell your only farm for one star unless it guarantees you at least the conference finals but if you have three farms you can afford to sell one for a star.

Embiid is on my fairly short list of players that I don't want on the Jazz simply because I don't like him. He's a stereotypical immature bully, laughing and dishing it out when things go his way but sulking and crying when things don't go his way. He was one of the people making fun of Rudy when he got emotional talking about his mother and the all-star game. Not to mention that he's injury prone, his game is built on foul baiting and he's a choke artist.

I don't see Ainge trading for him simply because age and injury risk (dude seems to have knee issues every year) wouldn't be worth the cost to get him. Don't get me wrong, dude's an MVP of course, but not in our timeline as it is.

Embiid threw basically all his teammates other than him and Harden under the bus with a tweeter saying that he and Harden can’t do it by themselves that’s why it’s 5 on 5. Lol
