Maybe. I could see the Celtics wanting to do that, I'm not sure how Mazzulla would feel about it.
I think he’s proved he’s not a head coach yet… so it’s gonna be an assistant job somewhere… might not be able to swallow his pride though.

He does not have a player option.
I see, my bad. When scrolling over Sportrac "Player Option" pops out, but it's actually an ETO. In any case, 10M are guaranteed, which makes it 47M still owed. Still toxic.

For a 1st most teams will be willing to absorb a bad contract with 1 or 2 years left and 10-25M in salary. Miami will probably have to wait one more year (or the deadline at the earliest).

I’d take him right now for #18. I think he would fit in just fine with the Jazz, and I’d like another crack inside the top 20 picks of the draft this year.

They are probably thinking the same hehe. It think they could dump him with a 1st in a weaker draft or when the pick projects to be in the mid 20s

I heard a rumour that Tatum and Brown were beefing, hard to fix that if thats the locker room issue.

has any team ever come back from 3-0 down in a conference finals?

Never happened in the NBA playoffs ever. I’m actually astonished this isn’t universally known.

I would fire him before game 4. Series is over, might as well make a statement.

Do you guys think the Celtics would sign the largest extension in NBA history to retain Jalen Brown after this?

This Celtics team is one of the most underperforming in recent memory. They should not have a losing record in the playoffs.

Celtics fans are saying if Hardy was their coach they’d have the championship in the bag. First we take their GM, then we take their best coach and the final nail in the coffin is we trade for Jaylen Brown.
Is Jalen Brown even worth it though? He’s gonna be really expensive and he hasn’t shown up so far against the Heat..

Boston just killed Philly. I think it's less of a Mazulla being terrible thing and more Miami just having Bostons number. I don't think you fire Mazulla, but you probably need to trade Brown and retool the roster around Tatum while trying to get a bit younger.

I mean if you hire someone Mazulla's age with Mazulla's lack of experience I would think you believe in his long term potential. None of this is his fault IMO, it's on Brad Stevens for promoting him too early if he truly wasn't ready.
