2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I think Dick has a lot of upside due to his unbelievably good above the break shooting, but Jett is also a sleeper high potential guy with his shot making ability. Between Brice, Jett, and Dick I think one of the will score 20+ PPG in the NBA.

Jett's ability to get shifty with his handle is what makes me buy into his upside over Dick. Has some bad habits and things he needs to work on, but I think you can work with him on those.

He does more off the dribble than Dick, and he has some potential as a wing-sized initiator. People questioned his long-term potential to defend, his lack of interest in rebounding and his habit of avoiding contact. In other words, the question is whether he's soft. A reasonable comp for him might be Tyler Herro, imo.

Does anyone remember some years back when there was an argument going around that for draft prospects it's better to prioritize the players who can produce high quality individual performances rather than prioritizing consistency? Or am I just making this recollection up in my mind? I can't easily find it anywhere online now.

Maybe this would be a good time to announce that I'm really liking what I've seen from Jalen Hood-Schifino?

Every time I watch Bufkin, I can't help but think that Howard just looks he has a real strong place in the NBA with his offensive skillset/size. So I'm more intrigued than I had been earlier from just reading stuff about him. (Still not sure I'd take him as high as 16).

As for Bufkin, I like him a lot. He always seems to be doing the right things on the court, and I'm impressed with his rim finishing and defense. But I'm not sure I see him as anything more than a low-level starter or high-level bench player (not that that would be a bad outcome at 16). And then there's this weird psychological hangup I have with him. Between his college, his frame, and his just how his face looks, I just can't avoid thinking about Jordan Poole.

If you filter out GG's conference games (a league he was way too overmatched to play in at his age) he averaged shooting splits on 43/37 averaging 18 ppg.

So he played okay (not well) against ****** opponents? Lmao. You can’t make this **** up. 43/37 isn’t even good.
