I’ve seen him mostly in the 4-7 range.
Its likely a combination of everything. He could fall... we could move up... also its pretty much a great situation for him. He likely starts day one on a semi-competitive team and we have a long-term need for what he does.

If I was matchmaking high level prospects and teams... I'd say Whitmore to Utah is real high on mutual fit. Walker/Hendricks in Indiana are basically perfect. Wemby and SA obviously pretty great. I think Washington and Black or Wallace is pretty seamless. Dick and @Hearsky 's earhole may be the best.

Man, I'm impressed Ainge is getting Whitmore in. Could easily say we are out of his range and refuse.
Also is pretty good smoke to signal the fire that the Jazz are targeting him. He shouldn’t get past Houston but crazier things have happened.

It looks like the Jazz have brought in mostly UDFA types, with one or two guys who might be in play at #28. Next is Cam Whitmore. It's too early to conclude that the Jazz may be moving #9 and #16, but so far that seems possible. Orlando's picks at #6 and #11 would be perfect if the Jazz want one of Cam/Ausar/Jarace, plus one of Cason/Kobe/Bilal/Keyonte/Gradey.

Emoni Bates (Eastern Michigan)
Charles Bediako (Alabama)
Lamont Butler Jr. (San Diego State, WD)
Alex Fudge (Florida)
Jarkel Joiner (NC State)
Colby Jones (Xavier)
Keshawn Justice (Santa Clara)
Seneca Knight (Illinois State)
Jordan Miller (Miami)
Cliff Omoruyi (Rutgers, WD)
Justin Powell (Washington State)
Antonio Reeves (Kentucky, WD)
Mike Sharavjamts (Dayton, WD)
Cameron Tyson (Seattle, WD)
Jordan Walsh (Arkansas)
Cam Whitmore (Villanova)
KJ Williams (LSU)

Jones is the only one in play at 16 on that list ( he won't last to 28th imo) I bet Powell and Fudge at 28 are sleepers there. All others are trade backs from 28 like for Bediako and Walsh and the rest on there, if any are still in the draft, are def udfa targets.
Most of the lottery prospects don't travel to places like Utah. We travel to them, so Cam being the only one says something about his camp approach to the top 10 more than our interest in him, but I still doubt he is avail. past 7

9 + 16 + Lakers pick + whatever for Magic's 6 and 11.
I'd do another 2025 first for that, could be nice for the Magic to extend more assets into the future since they already have a massive young core to develop and some future picks will make it easier to trade for bigger pieces later.

If Cam is available at 6 and we can get Cason Wallace at 11 then I would be ecstatic

The 9 and 16 picks are going to be used up no matter what happens. The we question should be, what are you willing to spend in the future to get good players now? An extra pick to get Cam? Another to get a good player at 11? Heck, I would even give Dallas a pick or take back a bad contract to get the 10th pick. Could you imagine having picks 6, 10 and 11 and maybe a valuable scrub (Wong) in the 2nd round?

I have a really hard time believing Cam makes it past Detroit.

Then, that’s where the Jazz need to target. A move up from #16 to #11 would be nice, but I think it’s critical (and worth putting some assets towards) to go after a guy that you think has true #1 potential. I’d start offering deals at 3 and see if you can snag him before the cost gets too unwieldy.

It's still early, but I think it's interesting that we haven't seen ANY of Wallace, Dick, Hood-Schifino, Bufkin, Black or Hendricks--all guys we are supposedly looking at for #9 and #16. It makes me think a deal to move up may be on the table and that both 9 and 16 might be in the deal.
Orrrr maybe none of them want to get drafted 9th hoping for a higher calling.
But also there are a lot better situations after 9 for most of those options, besides Hendricks, than the current Jazz core.
Imo even more importantly; everyone prospect for the most part can look at history to see how Danny did IT3.
So yeah despite him being the top dog for decades of nba executives ,when it comes to trades and such, the players see him in a negative light.
Nobody on the Jazz team feels like they are safe, ever.
Or maybe none of those guys were ever a target lol
