2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Scoot is like a young Westbrook without the baggage.
I think he’s like Westbrook with cerebral brain of CP3. Not quite that cerebral but that was the thing that stood out to me when I watched him… other than his amazing athleticism.

I like him the same now as I did before and for the same reasons and opinions I have always had. I haven’t changed my stance on him.

It’s just that deeply unserious people like yourself will say anything and anything to defend a prospect you “like” and I don’t want to be associated with that **** lmao.

If Bilal plays bad I’m not going to say we shouldn’t count it because it was too hard for him lmao.
Good lord

If Bilal ends up being the new trendy guy (probably is JHS) I want it to be known that I’ve like him for awhile and not for whatever BS he will be anointed with haha.
I pushed the Bilal propaganda heavily before Ainge showed up in France but yes I remember you were from the beginning behind him..

Westbrook didn’t have baggage when he was picked either. Also, Russ is bigger than Scoot.
Baggage isn’t the right word I think… Russ just was like a Ferrari with no brakes. It was wild and exhilarating and terrifying and maddening… I think Scoot could be just way more cerebral. If Scoot can’t figure out the shooting fully he might just be like a rich man’s prime Bledsoe. I don’t think he’s risky at all but I can see scenarios where he’s underwhelming but still good.

Just a casual AF mix of prime Russ and CP3 huh?

What if he’s just playoff Don?

Trust me I heard it as I typed it. What I meant was he’s like Lebron but better lol. The way he ran pick and rolls and shot in the midrange just had CP vibes… and then the athleticism is just bonkers.

I think Don is so reliant on three point shooting and Scoot won’t be that type. Scoot is going to be a few classes higher as a passer too. Maybe similar tier of player is the high end for Scoot. Amazing lead guard with some flaws.

He would be the first draftee in history to be taller than his listed height.

Shouts to all my 6’.05” PG’s listed as 6’4”

Hard to say unless we had both of their official measurements. The with or without shoes thing is a huge swing.

I’d say they’re close enough for the comp to be valid. And yes, Westbrook didn’t have the baggage when he came into the league because baggage is something you accumulate through time/experience.

Biggest looking 6'2 dude I've ever seen
And if that is 6’ 2” without shoes then in years past he’s be listed as 6’ 3” or 6’ 4”. Also looks to have a seriously + wingspan.

Would love to know the facts of his measurements in addition to why he didn’t want to do them. I’m happy the league is tightening the rules on combine invites.

He’s only working out for Charlotte and Portland. I’m sure they will do their own measurements.

Alright, so after a few minutes of research, here’s what The Internet says about Scoot’s size:
-either 6’ 2” or 6’ 4” (this sounds like the shoes/without shoes discrepancy). Also bear in mind rounding
-190 to 200 pounds
-6’ 9” wingspan

Westbrook’s official measurements:
-6’ 2.25” without shoes, 6’ 3.5” with shoes (the same as 6’ 2” without and 6’ 4” with shoes when rounding)
-6’ 7.75” wingspan
-195 pounds

Sooo… sounds like they’re the same size if not an edge to Scoot.
