Skiles or corbin?

Who would you rather have as head coach?

I don't call that a ton of talent. Jennings is overrated and starts for maybe half the teams in the NBA. Dalembert is terrible and would not start for very many. Ellis is a tweener with a limited compatibility with other players. The backups don't scream great players.

All of that says to me they are seriously lacking talent. Yet they are close to .500 with Skiles.

They lack of talent for being contender in the east but not for being 8th spot in the east. Any coach with this roster in the east can make them 8th spot. I do not think lots of fanz here watch either the eastern conference or Bucks matches but still make comments. We are gonna see how Jim Boylan does with this roster in the end of the season.

Bucks have some nice pieces though.

They have, at least potentially, a very good defensive front court with M'Bah, Henson, Sanders, and Dalembert. They have two explosive scorers in Jennings and Ellis. Dunleavy is also having a good year.

I think they would have eventually fallen below .500, but Skiles had them winning most of the games they were suppose to win, and pulled off a few nice upsets.

The funny thing about Jazz fans though is that every other team who is doing good, or better than perceived expectations, all the credit goes to the coach.

The Jazz exceed perceived expectations last year, and it was in spite of our coach.

I agree, Bucks have easily a playoff picture roster. And Numerica, it's not about İlyasova! Well not solely about him at least. I loved watching Sanders the last game. Dude is an amazing blocker. I mean the **** is this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CYsRvMI88M Do we have some kind of Hakeem back in here?

On the other hand, I think the major problem of Bucks is/was the coaching. Although Skiles is a good coach, his attitude might work wrong on the type of roster he had. After Monte's arrival, the Bucks turned into an amazing chuker backcourt team. This works at some points because the frontcourt is not too much of a scorer. But it worked least for Ersan. I think Jennings' and Ellis' play (you can't even put an "s" at the end of their names, so much to score in their presence!) needs to be shaped into a more ball-movement based game.

If a coach can turn Ellis/Jennings backcourt into one that is noted for it's ball movement and shot selection, they would probably deserve coach of the year. It isn't possible.

agree that their roster has some obvious flaws, but if they were overachieving, he wouldn't have been shown the door.

not that i'm saying skiles is a bad coach, i just hate the logic that the devil you don't know if always, irrefutably better than than the devil you know. right now, ty is at least good enough to still have a job, which gives him something skiles can't say.

This is a joke. It is also indicating that Corbin is a better coach than Sloan, Phil Jackson, both Van Gundy's and any other coach currently out of the league. Because he has a job and they don't.
.
Corbin has a job because he got hired by the most conservative franchise in the NBA and he has not completely screwed up. It will take a long time for this frachise to fire him even if they do no better than they are right now for 5 more years. He could coach this team to mediocrity and 1st round playoff loses at best and still have this job. This franchise would not have fired Skiles in the exact same situation as Milwaukee had.
.
That is why I hope he improves drastically.

you just named two coaches who left on their own terms and have been highly sought-after since, and one guy who was fired in houston but has had several opportunities to get back in that he hasn't taken advantage of out of respect for the way his friends were handled in those teams.

still, i get your point -- and i'm not saying corbin is better than skiles because corbin has a job. i'm saying skiles can't be much better than corbin if he just got canned because his players couldn't stand him. say what you will about corbin's handling of the team (and there's plenty to say), but the locker room is still very much together, and very much behind ty.

This is true.... I would prefer skiles though (which kinda prove the point about the devil you dont know, vs the devil you do know)
