IS Jefferson just a volume shooter

Al Jefferson has an usage rate that is almost similar to Paul Millsap and Gordon Hayward. They're in a 1 to 2% interval of each other. If one is a chucker than all of them are chuckers.

bigal is the definition of the word "average"

i guess 15mln and the keys of the team it's too much for that

their usage is only close because gordon and paul occasionally attempt to pass the ball, so their turnovers are higher (which factor into their usage %). the ball stops when it hits the left post on offense and keeps everybody else on the floor from being a factor. once it goes to al, the D knows they only need to watch al and the guard standing out on the strong side.

so it's not about the number of used possessions - it's about what al's used possessions do to the overall offense.

If that is so then when the ball gets to Al it ends up in either a shot, a TO, an assist to his strong side shooter or a foul. All of them count for usage rate. The other possibility is that either Al is passing out of the post in a way that a) leads to ball movement but doesn't mean an immediate basket and then you can't say he's a ball hog, b) his team mate takes a shot that they don't hit (which doesn't count for usage% but also means the ball left the post and so he isn't a ball hog . Or simply the ball doesn't get into the post nearly enough as ppl say it does.

Be it a, b or whatever the fact is that the claim made was that Al is a volume "shooter" emphasis on "shooter" since shots contribute to usage rate and his usage rate isn't that high than the thesis is defeated by virtue of not making much sense. Not to mention that you used the fact that he doesn't do a negative stat to be something detrimental.

BTW I like Al but I don't think he's stellar or anything like that but I'm a bit tired of all the negativity towards him and towards the team.

Big Al is a chucker because he doesn't provide anything else to the team whatsoever except rebounds that he doesn't box out for.

If his offense is off, we're literally playing 4 against 5. What's even worse is that when his offense is off, he tries even harder to score. When his offense is on, he'll do a better job at passing the ball out of a double team-- but if he's struggling? Nope. He'll just keep chucking until it starts to hit.
