-the official Alec Burks PG thread-

Exactly.. pretend not to understand my words, that will really prove your point, right on.. let me quote someone elses to end this

that awesome movie django (see that)

And you are an abysmal winner... Normally in my native german tongue we say Auf Wiedersehen! but that would imply id like to see you again, which i do not. so instead i say GOODBYE.

I'm sorry, I wasn't listening.

And he died straight after.... great example.. LOL

But i dont think you can accurately measure his worth if he is being confined to a role that doesnt fit his skill-set
So his skill-set = chucking? Per minute, only Gordo, Al and Paul take significantly more shots than Alec. His problem has been taking too many shots, not too few. Chucking to get into a rhythm is not conducive to winning basketball games or development as a team player.

its not the greatest, i prefer it over most of the superhero movies weve been forcefed the past bunch of years.

i love the ozymandias and dr manhattan characters, if you read the graphic novel its way better, between the chapters theres all these little cool back-stories revealed thru like newspaper reports and hidden files. specifically rorschach isnt nearly as gimmicky and far less annoying in the book, (theres also a moving graphic novel or whatever they call it, thats way better than the movie if you dont mind the format of a moving comic)

alan moore litterally wants nothing to do with any of the movie adaptations of his writings (including V for Vendetta) just takes the $, that dude is the man.

he also wrote the best batman/joker graphic novel, its called the killing joke. and as a bit of a spoiler it ends with an epic joke.

the joke about the two men at an asylum at which batman laughs?

he gets open easily, (for instance his one turnover yesterday, clearly he should have shot the ball. wide open inside the FT line, tried to give to kanter in that spot near the baseline where he drains from. (he was going crazy with the kanter inbounds passes last night and still managed to drop 25.)

nothing about burks (cept the 2nd half last night, and summer league) would i ever describe as in-rhythm, thats why i see the upside tho, once the game slows down for him hes gonna realize the onus is on the defense(he realized this for a bit yesterday when he saw lil isaiah beating his chest)
right now hes put the onus on himself, worrying about being benched for mistakes

(ty's on him like white on rice, he barely missed a runner early 2nd quarter, was out in seconds.)
I think the 20-ish minutes he's been getting per night is about right. Ty's also giving him plenty of opportunities to both play off the ball and initiate the offense, as well as letting him play in crunch time occasionally. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Gordo and Mo are back. If he gets less than 12 minutes per game or loses minutes to Earl...

I've been happy just seeing Burks get some minutes lately, at the very least he looks like he ought to be an off the bench scorer, and if his playmaking develops a little bit more a slashing SG with decent handles who can pass a little would be really nice.

Could be a great fit with Gordo with the driving and drawing defenders only to kick it out for three.

EDIT: if you know any batman enthusiasts that arent too young for a more clever/brutal version of the stories, get them this book for their birthday or something, its really good

Yeah I didn't read the comic books and couldn't figure out why the director shoved a blue **** on the screen.

This thread is a wast of time, as I see it, the Jazz will either resign Mo, or trade for a young pg, or draft one, while at the same time resigning Mo. We need Burks to develop into a scoring attacking guard that puts lots of pressure on defenses and gets to the foul line. That's his upside! Pg isn't his strength, and don't see him playing point beyond this year. The only reason he's doing it now is out of necessity due to Mo being out and the only other options being those two old guys from the assisted living facility. Again the thing the Jazz need most is what Burks can provide at sg.

I think the 2 guard is his natural position, but for the life of me cannot figure out why he should sit on the bench in favor of Tinsley and Watson, two guys who are totally washed up and barely adequate at best.

But when Mo comes back and if the Jazz get a good young PG I hope the rotation is like this in the future:

Mo/New PG (or vice versa)
Burks/Foye (or whoever if Foye doesn't resign)
Hayward/Caroll/Marv
Kanter/Sap or Al (whoever the resign if they resign one)
Favors/Sap or Al (same as above)

Wishful thinking I know
Repped, exactly how I feel
Burks playing 2 pushes gordon to the 3 do you endorse that? or are you thinking we should platoon them at SG? also do you think Burks has equal value in the SG role as he does in the PG role?

(cont'd vaguely from my last po

this is why in the upcoming draft we should draft at least one guy to further perpetuate the soldier attitude (Olapido, less so Porter, maybe Goodwin [i wanna see what hes got tourney time]), and hopefully one big potential guy whos lost some stock(specifically alex poythress, Goodwin may fit in this category too) let that kid see how we do things around here, from what ive read from pkm hes quite smart, hell get it over here[ty will break that inconsistency he shows with his 1 mistake u sit style]. (when i say get it, im not talking about minutes;)) -- (i do think Isaiah Austin fits both of the catagories i cited, except i think hes preformed quite nicely this year, his body brings him overwhelming negative press, cannot believe someone compared him to frye in the draft thread, hahahahahahahahhaha yall do have some good jokes here!)

imagine this athleticism in lets say 2015

Burks, Hayward, Poythress, Favors, Kanter ...... (sooooo many blocks/rebs, where u gonna hide your undersized guys...)

olapido 6th man, DMC, and wed need a few bigs a backup pg and a shooter (maybe foye)... thats my vision, i hope atleast this particular post makes yall laugh.

while fantasy is the topic... say the word and ill post the team and player stats of my 2017 utah jazz season in 2k13 where we went 80-2.[4****s n giggles, obviously] started the season with a 50 game winningstreak (all games simulated, only intervened thru adjusting the rosters, coaches, strategies + training camps) kanter won the mvp, i imported the next few draft classes to to make it realistic) -that being said i traded for the magics draft picks, chris paul signed with us after the 2012 season, when he left. i signed john wall in his prime (no trade overrides, thats cheating). in my 100's of simulations i never had a season like that.had to stop the million things i was doing and write down all the stats.
burks has way more value as a sg. He's not a pg! Why do you think I said this thread is a wast of time.
