Those of you who Voted you'd rather have Burks over Kawhi Leonard are Crazy!!

I sure hope Ale[c] Burky proves me wrong, but holy cow, Leonard is a stud. The guy is Going to be awesome and he helps you win in the playoffs. Monta Ellis type players put up numbers but they don't help you win. Hopefully Burks is going to be better than that, but he may not and he may not even be close in scoring ability. What Kawhi did in the playoffs was brilliant for a 21 year old. He was fantastic. I hope some of you will capitulate your Alec Burks is Jazz messiah signs, and just admit that Kawhi is pretty much >than Burks. sad yes, But We don't need a Monta Ellis player or a rudy Gay type player. WE need a guy like Kawhi (haha). Just admit that you'd rather have Leonard over Rudy Gay or Monta Ellis. If you can't admit that you are crazy and don't really know what winning basketball is all about. I fear Burks is just Rudy Gay monta Ellis-lite.
 
I wanted Leonard on draft day. But now that Burks is a Jazzman I want Burks.

You know what really makes me happy? The jazz didn't draft either of the Morris twins. Nice work KOC.

I just wonder if we'd be having this discussion today if Burks had been drafted by the Spurs and we had drafted Leonard?

If Leonard had received the same amount of PT as Burks and Burks received the same amount of PT as Leonard, I'm guessing that most on this board would be killing KOC for not taking Burks.

Give Burks PT before judging. As Leonard has started most of his career in the NBA burks has been giving DNPs.

Talk to Coach Corbin about that.

Actually, If you look back Hayward has always gotten PT becasue he plays the game the right way, within the system. I think Corbin would have given minutes to Kawhi for that same reason.

No he hasn't! Hayward has spent a significant part of his career riding the bench. The other half has been spent throwing the ball into Big Al and standing out by the 3 pt line. Is that "playing the right way?"

The mere fact that guys like Raja Bell and Josh Howard played ahead of Hayward kinda sinks your argument that Hayward wasn't playing the right way. Josh Howard NEVER played the right way... Unless the right way is shooting the ball every single time he touched it.

Leonard would have gotten more time than Burks. Burks still hasn't figured out the mental part of the game and Kawhi figured it out quickly in San Antonio.

Well, When Hayward was benched it wasn't working for him in the starting lineup. had Hayward played 3 more minutes a game he'd be first on the team in minutes per game last season. Its not like he was burried on the bench and played way less than the vets. He was right there in minutes played. Kawhi would have played around 30 minutes too, which is what he played this year for the spurs. Come on man. this is basic haha. I'm just playing.

Don't give me this, "Well, he didn't respect coach Ty Corbin." Who the hell does? The most hilarious thing is that no one has confidence in Ty Corbin. The dude has been bashed by players, destroyed by fans, questioned by the media (daily on the Gunther/Graham show), and the franchise has brought back Jerry Sloan to aid him. If that's not a complete vote for lack of confidence then I don't know what is.

Give me 3 legit reasons why Burks hasn't played SIGNIFICANTLY over the past 2 years.

cus that is not clear. so how is he supposed to play within the system

1. Burks doesn't play within Corbin's system of Offense (ie. Give it to Al Jefferson and stand around watching.)
2. Burks doesn't play within Corbin's system of Defense (ie. Let opposing players drive to the hoop unimpeded.)
3. Burks licks his lips too much.

Legit.
 
Burks would've hit both free Throws and the Spurs would've been 5times champs....

Duncan wishes they would've traded up higher to pick burks!!
