Warriors and Jazz Mega Trade

Yeah it will be harder to move up next year, that's true, but its still an extra pick in what's supposed to be a loaded draft.

I just feel like if they were desperate for a big free agent we could have whipped out the lube and took advantage of the situation. Not the other way around.
With the position that both teams were in, we should not have to try and find a bright side. We should be saying "wow, they really wanted Iggy. Lucky for us we had so much cap space to take advantage of their desperation." That's how these deals usually go down....

I think how good this trade was will be defined by:

1. What it does to our draft pick
2. How we use the acquired draft picks in other trades
3. How we use the expiring contracts in other trades

Yup. Trade that'll take a long time to judge.

Brandon Rush is better than any wing we could of signed in free agency right now.
Good 3 point shooter and defender. Will play very well next to Hayward.
Jefferson can be a serviceable back up at the SF position. He still can hit the 3 and be decent at defense. 15 minutes a night and be a mentor.
Bedrins sucks but who cares
Free draft picks is what we just got. I wanted Barnes too but we had competition with other teams.

And by the way, I don't know if anyone saw this post:

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 44m
Golden State drops out of the Dwight Howard chase, clearing the way for long-standing frontrunner Houston to close with the free agent star.

So GS won't be getting Howard. I don't see Iggy making them that much better....

We'll do what Portland did last year.

Burke/McNeal/Tinsley
Burks/Rush/Hayward
Hayward/Carroll/Jefferson
Favors/Evans/Jefferson
Kanter/Gobert/Biedrins

One of the worst second units of all time. That plus GS pick will allow us to move up.

Rush is actually a pretty nice player so overall I'm okay with this after thinking about it a bit.

Early in the year we'll play above expectations but as the year goes on you'll notice we drop EVERY close game because the bench plays late minutes.

Guys.. a bit late to this, but can someone tell me what we're getting back? So far I'm not seeing any value for the Jazz. Bierdrins & Jefferson are scraps.

In the end, depending on the remaining picks, I'm okay with this deal. Tell Biendrins and Jefferson to take a hike, play Rush if he's playable (and clean), let the core grow, save the cap for next season, use the picks to grab the players we want. Jazz still have room to maneuver as well. I'm cool with that.

rush is a great deep shooter probably as good as randy, but taller so not as big of liability on the other end

draft picks

only one we know of is the 2014 1st rounder but there are others to be announced later

Murphy for Biendrins, Jefferson, B. Rush, 2014 1st from GSW, 2016 1st (GSW I think), and a future 2nd.
