Srs question for coug fans

Not even gonna call you guys zoobs or point out that we've beat you 4 times in a row in football or mention how we just utterly destroyed you in basketball last week. This thread is not about that, it is a real thread with a legit question.

Would y'all not want byu to fire Roscoe and hire Whittingham in about .2 seconds if Utah ever fired him?

Basically byu's dream coach right?

Didn't they try to hire him before? I actually think Witt would do very well on Provo. Certainly better than " me roscoe, me wear t shirt"

Whitt was offered both the Utah and byu Head Coaching jobs at the same time.

I'd probably rather have Whit as the coach than Bronco, that's true.
 
Yes. I'm so sick of Bronco trying to be the Elder's Quorum President. They all already have one. They need a full time football coach.

No. Whittingham is on the cusp of getting fired at Utah. As a BYU fan, no I don't want the sloppy seconds of the dregs of the PAC. That would be like hiring the leftovers of a bottom of the barrel MWC team, such as, say, Wyoming. Oh wait, you ute fans know what that feels like. Good luck with your 8th OC in 8 years. That KWhitt, he sure knows how to pick his coordinators.

So you'd rather have Roscoe than Whitt? Ok then.

Whitt's teams continually beat inferior teams. Just like Roscoe's does (most of the time, hello Virginia). Only difference is that occasionally Utah under Whit also wins games they shouldn't. I think it may be time for Utah to move on without Whit. But BYU would be stupid not to hire him. He's 2X the coach that Bronco is.

Whitt is a very good coach. I'm just not sure he's up to the level of Pac12 coaches. Mostly because I don't think he knows how to recruit like Pac12 teams should.

Haven't they both shown that same lack of coaching connections? They both seem to consult the Alumni Network of each school too much. Lavell's staffs were absolutely legendary; guys that went on to kill it and made long careers as head coaches in the NFL and OCs elsewhere. To me, that's a sign of where your program at. What's the recent history for BYU in that regard?

Personally, I would choose neither. I don't believe BYU should ever have a defensive coach as their head coach.

At least you have a legitimate reason for not wanting him. And I think it's a good point. BYU has been known for their offense and won because of it for years. Having an offensive minded head coach is more in line with what the fan base expects.
