Okay, so we aren't even a quarter of the way through the season, but is this Jerry's best coaching job ever? We have 6 players that weren't on the roster last season...we lost our best 3-point shooter, our starting 2-guard, and Bozzer...he is using creative lineups to change the momentum of games...he is using different rotations based on matchups and player performance...he is switching up between zone and man defenses at the right time...and making great in game adjustments all the way around. I mean think about it...all these new players, all these comebacks...he is making it look easy. Plus, we seem to only be getting better as the new players get more comfortable here.

Poll to follow.

03/04? Jarron, Googs and Michael Ruffin combined for 78 starts, Tag had 51 starts, Carlos Arroyo had 71 starts. 42 - 40.

Yeah, that season was pretty incredible when you look back at the roster. However, at this point in the season, I would say his work so far this year is up there with that coaching job. I mean Jefferson was completely lost out there for the first 10 games or so. Also, our early season schedule was pretty brutal before the last 2 weeks of mostly home games.

I think we have tougher/better/smarter players than we have in a few years and it makes coach Sloan's job a lot easier.

If the Jazz win 60 this season AND make it to the WCF or further, Sloan will win COY.

Yep. A team with Boozer, Memo and Brewer starting can't play zone. Also, most of the bench (Watson, Price, Elson, Fes) are willing to lay dudes out. 36 minutes of high contact basketball followed by the DWill train in the 4th. It's tough to beat.

I voted "too early". It's a good start, but it has to be sustained in order to eclipse 03/04, which was simply amazing given the roster we had (that was the team some ESPN chump predicted to win less than 9 games IIRR).

Last season, it seemed Sloan tried maximize matchups and play the hot hand a lot more than in the past. His regimented substitution patterns really weren't so strict, and it looks like the same is happening this season already.

I remember the "post Stockton & Malone" season, and he was very disciplined about substitutions - even to a fault. Maybe that was what that team needed. With the guys on this roster, maybe he can be more creative.

Perhaps Sloan, himself, has improved as a coach?

What I have noticed is that the main players on the team are completely on board with the Jerry Sloan way
Mainly: Deron and Millsap. Hard work, no nonsense. And the rest of the team is falling in line with it. Al certainly came in with the "I'm so happy to be on a winning team that I'll do anything" attitude, and I think Bell deserves a lot of credit for his leadership.

Agree that 03/04 was amazing. However, I'm pretty sure the 9 game prediction was for 04/05, when the Jazz ended up winning 26.

It's gotta be the 03-04 season hands down

Matt Harpring (33 games played)
Raja Bell
Greg Ostertag
Tom Gugliotta
Andrei Kirilenko
Gordon Giricek
Carlos Arroyo
Jarron Collins
Michael Ruffin
Aleksandar Pavlovic
Raul Lopez
Mikki Moore

That roster got a 42-40 record, It's amazing
