Official 5th Pick Poll (Who Ya Got)

Who Should the Jazz Select With the 5th Pick

A few other things that I've been thinking about:

- Vonleh's stock rising is the best thing that could have possibly happened for the Jazz. The second this draft becomes a 5 person draft is the second that we have a serious chance at drafting an all-star. Draft mocks are never perfect representations of GM decisions, and Paul George's recent performances only provide more fuel to the draft-Vonleh fires. Thus, there is a very real chance that Vonleh jumps into the top 4-- 2way bigs with elite measurements, formidable athleticism, and high character? Even if this dude falls to us at 5, there's a chance he could be a top 3 player when all is said and done.
- I am praying -- PRAYING -- for very poor tryout-performances from Jabari Parker. It seems like he'd never get past Philly-- and if he did, he'd never get past Orlando. But, crazier **** has happened.

1) Embiid 2) Wiggins 3) Vonleh 4) Exum

pipe-dream I'm sure….but again: crazier **** has happened. These picks all make sense for the teams picking them. Orlando is pretty much set with promising youth at every position except point-guard. Exum/Oladipo/Afflalo/Harris/Vucevic is a strong core. Very, very strong IMO. Afflalo at SF > whoever they have at PG. Not to mention the fact that it has often been said that Orlando has heavily scouted Exum.

I think Vonleh will turn out to be a better overall player than Jabari. Parker is going to be a scorer, but will he make a team that much better? Guys like Carmelo and AI are/were replaceable because their offensive greatness was offset enough by their defensive liabilities to make their sum contribution much, much less than what one would expect from a "superstar" and MAX player.

Aaron Gordon, aka a glorified Jeff Green

Gordon's got him in rebounding and not by much, everything else is a wash or in Green's favor

/cue 1,000 jazzfanzers overrating Gordon's defense

yeah but isn't Jeff Green a terrible defender. I always hear comments along those lines. And green isn't an elite athlete, right? Maybe we could do better with a comp.

Gotta go with Gordon and then hope that we're luckier in next year's lottery to score ourselves a #1 offensive option.

Sometimes the numbers don't reflect a players ability to use their athletic ability. I can't recall Jeff Green ever catching a ball flat-footed and immediately exploding off the floor for a dunk in someone's face. Gordon did this frequently last season. Maybe their should be a max vert while holding a ball or something.

What at relief it would be if they would draft him though... Watched those highlights again with very open mind and without any prejudice. How this guy is even in top 10 discussion is beyond my understanding. Seriously, **** ****

The comments are hilarious on the facebook page.

Agree with Carmello but AI? no way. I know the guy was a head case but he was also a 11 time all star and league MVP. he also took a weak team and nearly single handedly took them to the finals twice. (he also through my boy Vanhorn under the bus). I would definitely take a young AI from the draft.

Look at that roster. Now go ahead and tell me that AI was replaceable. He played with a bunch of crap, and got them to the finals.

OK, I'll give you the young AI. I remember his later years when his teams would do as well when he was out of the lineup. So erase AI from my list, but keep Carmelo and Boozer. Parker will give up almost as many as he scores.
