OK, Stockton just comes in as a part-time coach like Hornacek did for a couple of years. Jazz dangle a carrot by signing his son to be the 3rd-string PG.
The embarrassing part would be to have a 50-yr old be the best PG in the building during practices.

Now that I think about it, this could be the hold up. Jazz are investigating whether John has officially retired or not and what the rules are for a player-coach. League office has been tied up with the Sterling mess and that little thing called the playoffs, but has promised to respond next week.

Messina. Still think he'd be a damn good hire. It's a risk to try to bring the European game to the NBA, but he's got the experience and personality to pull it off and Utah is the right environment to take a shot on something like that.
I hope it's Stockton just so I can hear his one syllable answers to media questions.

I saw Shawn Bradley at Rumbi a month ago. It's probably him. He'd have a huge advantage at seeing the court with his stature.

I think he has, and I'm sure a lot of it has to do with his kids getting older and not feeling as much of a need to protect their privacy by being so closed.

He's a damn smart and well spoken individual. He sounds like a coach when you hear him be candid. I don't think I'd go with a more experienced coach, but I wouldn't hate it if he was hired as the coach.
